does a hermie determine what your clones wil be?

i have repeatedly searched the net and also searched thru the engine provided to see if i could find information on a problem im having with a white widow plant i grew from seedsman. since im new to cloning i guess this place would be appropriate.

i vegged a white widow for about 2 months and she was roughly 2-1/2 feet tall. i routinely pruned her, gently, and also took maybe 15 clones of of her lower side before i threw her into a mylar wrapped and ventilated room with 12-12 lighting from a 400 hps light. she was ran on a D.W.C system with only advanced nutes, ph and ppm at the right levels. well she turned hermie. i understand this does happen sometimes even when youre being careful to watch everything. such is life....

i've never really cloned but found great tutorials online at youtube and here at rollitup.org. im wanting to ask someone who knows better than myself two simple questions.

1: because the mother that vegged turned hermie , will that dictate that all of my clones will turn out hermie as soon as i switch them to 12-12 as well?

2: did the clipping and cloning of so many lil' girls cause to much stress on the plant and make her turn on me?

i'd hate to think i just pissed away all of my beautful clones. they're looking pretty as ever and going strong. but if there is chances these ones will turn hermie as well, they'll ultimately be tossed out . any advice you all can share would be greatly appreciated. thanks again!

It means there is a genetic predisposition to hermy. If it was stress induced, but not until after the clones were taken, they should have a clean start, but still just as likely to hermy if stressed... can't really changed the DNA like that. ;-)

It might not be too bad if she only throws a couple nanners, and even still she might be sterile so you wouldn't have to worry about seeds ruining your crop.

Some of the "elite" cuts tend to hermy anyway and it doesn't detract from their value... unless your me.

user friendly, thanks for your insight. i was thinking about it being the genetics of the seed itself. im an outdoor grower but this year is a first at any kind of hydro and definately new to the cloning scene. i still have aot of information to gather and apply before my grow is finished.

with the feminized w. widow going hermie , i'm still going to try out the clones. the only thing that i can truely think of is that my resevoir tank was always a little bit to cold and the temps here where i'm living at rise up and down quite a bit since it's spring but still have intermittant cold snaps. as i've only read online, that is a type of stress D.W.C plants dont really need. i am with new hope for my eight fem. alaskan ice plants that i have going over to 12-12 now. thanks for the advice.

if its genitics then all will be hermies, if it was stress then you might be ok, i had mermies, i had to destroy 5 plants, almost cried

I get a few male flowers late in flower on 3 different strains. I believe it was from 24/0 veg for 8 weeks. All cuttings do the same. My garden is small enough that it is somewhat manageable, but the worst offender is out of rotation after this last one, but the K-train is too good and only throws out a few stamens. 2 were from clone and one from non femmed seeds, all 3 phenos.

I feel ya.........I had my crop hermie on me the 5th week of flowering. It hurted' but i continue with it cause the smoke will still be good, just with a few seeds. I think it was stress that caused it.

Feminized?....???

I see a lot of people complaining about hermies, and then when I find out they're from feminized seed, I'm all like... "WTF did you expect from feminized seed!?!"

There's a lot of noobs buying that shit up too. Seems like very few people care abut the well-being of cannabis. Fuckin' sickens me.

That's directed more so at the breeders than the growers.
