Hi all

I have tried it on and off many times and recently made up my mind. I will not put ice ever again in my bongs. Dont know why it makes me cough and without it i do not. I think its the loss of tube volume to ice that makes the smoke go straighter to throat irritating it despite the cooler temperature. Moreover its a bit of a hassle getting up to get more ice and pouring excess water out.
Whats your preference and why?

I never really noticed much of a difference from the ice, and it seems to quickly melt and pool and then I'm getting a mouthful everytime I take a hit. So, nay to the ice for me.

My bong is smallish, and I like a cube in the ice-catcher to keep the risk of splashing down, while keeping the smoke cool.

Whenever I bongout - I ice that shit down. Old habit that sorta turned into part of the ritual ya know?
I know i kinda like it full to the brim just that first couple of bowls when its still ice frozen, i love those pneumonia fumes that exhale from the ice.

I think there might be more that one or two reasons for coughing when toking.
How come i only cough when i have ice in the bong? Plus my weed is way to clean to make me cough.

Sucks when the ice melts. Too much work. Put some hair on your lungs and smoke like a man.
Hairy enough to tickle your fancy?

i do snow bongs..turn your bong horizontal, place in a loose snowdrift and move it in one motion to the side(works best w fresh fallen snow)..fills up the tube with a "sno-cone"..works great dry with no water..add water, and its harsh..idk why..

I like snow bongs in winter but it makes me cough.
I once read the water should be warm.
The transition between burning weed and the warm water make for a smoother hit.

We had so much snow this winter the novelty wore off after two months.

Ice is actually bad ypu in a bong unless you need it. Bongs are terrible these days because you cant find the without an ice pinch. I had to get custom glass to get a piece without one. Having an ice pinch really fucks up airflow.
