I'v heard that it helps your plants, but i don't believe it really works so i don't bother with it.

it was on myth busters, it proved the faster the music, the faster they grow, i dont think its enough to really make that much of a difference though

I think it's sound in general? I remember reading something about how the sound waves from someone's voice, music, etc. stimulate the plant's cells and growth.

Edit: I also use music in my grows, lol almost forgot to say whether or not I use music lol.

I use music throughout my whole grow, personally. Then again I'm a really big music lover so I always have music playing anyway lol. I also sing to my plants when I'm caring for them, maternal instinct I guess I don't know lol.

^ lmao @ singing to them

how so? you sing on a regular instrumental or sing along with the song?
lol
Lol it's a stupid song.... and I only do it when I'm watering them usually. Anyway the song goes.... "If I had a little red box to put my girlies in, I'd take em out and puff puff puff and put em back again.".

I also sometimes sing to a song that's playing, or sing one of my songs Acapella.

The music I play for my plants is a variety of music, all different genres.

any hows there is one guy in particular ((professor Emoto)) who has been experimenting with water ,,playing all kinds of music to it and writing lovely and not so lovely messages on it ,getting people to talk to it and sing to it and yell at it,etc..and then freezing it and photographing the ice crystals...amazing stuff
well you know we are about 70% water and so are plants,,so what effects water effects us and our plants

Myth Busters already did this. It proved BUSTED that plants increase or respond to music. all plants did the same with all types of music and none. They also did some where they were nice talkin to plants and mean (yelling at the plants) and yelling was better (but that's more Co2) ;p

this is from wikipedia: Seven small greenhouses were set up on the M5 Industries roof. Four were set up with stereos playing endlessly looping recordings (as having the Mythbusters actually talk to the plants could contaminate the samples with their expelled carbon dioxide): Two of negative speech, two of positive speech (Kari and Scottie each made one positive and one negative inducing soundtrack), a fifth with classical music and a sixth with intense death metal music. A seventh greenhouse, used as a control sample, had no stereo. The greenhouses with the recordings of speech grew better than the control, regardless of whether such talk was kind or angry. The plants in the greenhouse with the recording of classical music grew better, while the plants in the greenhouse with the recording of intense death metal grew best of all.
