Do you need a fan for drying If temps are fine

If you are wanting to slow the exchange rate you can almost completely block under the door with a towel.
Thats if you are worried about venting the moisture too fast

Personally I wouldn't run the secondary fan, what is your humidity levels in the bathroom right now? That isn't a lot of material or moisture for such a large area I kinda fear they would dry too quick but that is just my opinion and I did not sleep at a holiday inn last night so you probably shouldn't listen to anything I have said :D Good luck I hope it works out great for you how ever you decide.

I don’t know where you are but here in Colorado I would be worried it would be crisped up when I got home if I left with a fan on.

Been drying 1 day.

2 more days till you leave.

You're about half way done with drying once you walk out the door.I wouldn't use your bathroom exhaust fan.Like mentioned it's in a fairly good sized room and it's just the one plant. If you have a decent humidity level in there i wouldn't want to suck it out with your buds being about half way done and you not coming back for 3 more days.A fan on low pointing away from it just to keep the air circulating within the room some is what i'd do.

P.S.

First time trim sure a long journey...lol

Get some more runs under your belt and that will turn into "maybe" an hour.:bigjoint:

Haha alright so here's how it went, it was 4 days drying before I had to leave to go down south Friday arvo , I ended up using the exhaust fan only to dry it in those 4 days and they were almost done by then , could of gone 1 more day but 3 days away would have came back to them being too dry. Anyways had no choice but to jar them up and bring them down south with me, luckily here in Australia where I am there's virtually no chance any cops will search you driving down that way unless you looked dodgy as fuck. After a few hours in the jars they got pretty sticky again which was expected because wasn't dried properly, I tried burping for a while but thought I needed to do something a bit more drastic to be safe so dumped em in paper bags for a night which helped heaps and then back to the jars burping for a hour every few hours and now nearly a week later I'm still burping but twice a day , most arnt sticking together but some are barely sticking together so they are probably in the perfect zone to burp once a day now I'm prob just being cautious , I got some boveda humidity 62 packs in the mail today which I can chuck into the jars now , next time Il be getting a hygrometer , I didn't plan it and when the time came I just couldn't be fucked waiting for one to come in mail.

So I guess it all went well /is going well still , I don't know the strain but the smell when harvesting was real lemon and skunky and that smell is really starting to come back strong now which is a relief because it was smelling a bit like hay when I jarred it to early.

It also has been tested a few times since then by me and a few mates and some heavy weed smokers I know from work and its got nothing but good reviews and it's pretty strong haha and everyone wants to get their hands on some when im done curing it.

So anyways that's how it all went, I appreciate everyone's help and advice , being a first grow it's helped me heaps and kept my mind at peace when I was doubting shit . Cheers guys , wish I could share some with yous.

sounds good, it is always stressful as you venture down a road you have not traveled before. sounds like your place wasnt too dry, thats good and in the end it all came around to the sweet spot Congrats man!

Just be aware that those 62s work best when you are in range, meaning if its overly wet or dry the pack may not be able to keep up.

I would get the hydrometer you spoke of asap.

Congrats by the way

Also just a quick tip don’t leave the packs in there for an extended period of time, ie 4 days or more or they will get a weird smell. There’s some treads on it on Icmag, it’s good to use for a few hours every day but not to leave I’m for a week or more without burping

A little note on my recent experience just in the last few days...

i harvested my Blue Dream and Ayahuasca Purple just last week...

hung em in a dark closet, temp was 75 humidity at 53% of course reading this had me thinking and not wanting mold i figured I will just set a fan on the floor ...
just to stir up the air a bit...

well, the air was bouncing offa some of the stuff on the floor and the breeze must have been ricocheting off and hitting the prize budz on the tips of every single branch that was hanging low... i was trying to be patient, well yesterday i went o trim it out....

i cried a river and was having terrible anxiety because most of the prize buds were hard as a rock.

so i just trimmed and set aside the hard ones... all in all i ended up from one blue dream 199 grams of bud.

so i put them all into a plastic sealable container with my remote temp/humidity sensor inside so i can sit in my living room and monitor them 1 2 and 3 all on one screen ... sweet!

well the container with the soft soft buds got up to 67% but the hard buds got only to 49% before it stalled. so i took them and put them all together and put a layer of paper towel, and then a healthy layer of iceberg lettuce. left em over night... this morning i pulled out the ones that still felt hard and was about 1/2 oz of the biggest buds and put a massive amount of lettuce and 4 hours later they started feeling better... the stems never got brittle and things were back into the good zone the odor was amazing so i merged them all back together to cure up ...

WHEW! My big mistake... next time the fan is way away, and maybe on low...

Praise be to the iceberg lettuce also.

sharing this because it is relevant to the fan question.

Ouch.. Been there done that, it only needs to get it to 62% to jar for a few months, and 55% for long term storage.
Was there day one of drying mine with a RH of 48-55%, was told to get it up over 60% to prevent drying to quick.

I used plastic container & damp sponge to get RH up to 60-70 range to make it slow. As you know, adding another day or 4 to this whole process is much less painfull than a bag of fresh cut grass smell...

I have 3 hanging, well 2 now. One dried quicker then the other two.. Could have been from the fan, but seems odd being three plants in same spot, one in middle dried in 3.5 days, other two feel like they will be more like 5-6.. Buds are a bit airy, had a split main branch so I am wondering if it is a combo of things.

First one I trimmed and put all in one jar together, RH went up to 73% within an hour, after 12 hours in there the buds all feel the same.. Going to burp/smoke them dry the rest of the way down to 62%... :-)

gave me a scare but have since received rave reviews for the flavors that are there its a blue dream, and the blueberry line makes its presence known, not overwhelming, good for daytime usage, as opposed to the Ayahuasca Purple i grew as a tent mate to BD... that one is a storm trooper kicks ass and takes names later.. after you have a nap hahaha ... but the cure was flawless on that. just cut my purple OG today and no fan in the closet this time.
