Do you have to top your girls?

I have seen a lot of discussion about topping plants. My question is, DO YOU HAVE TO? I know i makes it them bush out and grow more colas, also gaining in yeilds. Just not sure that I need to or if I have to. Does it really all depend on the strain your growing, or just personal preference. All this may sound redundant but it will help.

It's mainly personal preference. Some strains do not respond well to topping and don't flower as well with multiple heads whereas some strains can have their yield vastly improved by 2, 4, or more heads. If you know what strains you are growing, do some research and check out other peoples grows. Another method is (if you are doing clone runs for instance) to do a side by side or multiple different trials to see what works best for you. Space, strain, large yield necessity, and light penetration all can play a role into whether you should top or not.

lol.,.,u dont have to do anything.,.,.,.its a technique that people like iself like to use to maximize yiled in tight places ect.,.,or if im only growing a couple plants i top to maximise tops.,.and large colas

apperciate the advise. so would any of you top a lr#2xAK47 or a DNA LA WOMAN #1. just asking for shits and giggles. have some coming. havent found to much on the LA though.??

topping rocks.

it sends massive growth signals to the plant and reduces the amount of time I live in phear of spindle stem. Because within days after topping after 2nd true node...my stem has doubled in thickness.

you dont HAVE to do anything. the plant will grow on its own

the question is do you want 2-4+ main colas on your plant?

with the autoflowers you shouldnt be topping or anything else really. dont know about LA Woman

In my experience, wish has led me to the sea of green style of growing and significent increase in yield, is to clone and group closely together, never top them and train them to be single cola plants. Choosing a high yielding Indica strain will help, but more infamous strains work almost just as well
