Do Sat's produce roots longer into the flower period than Indi's??

Good afternoon growers,

I have taken it as a given, after coming across it several times, that plants stop rooting a couple of weeks into flower, and this seems to have been proven in all my indica grows. However, I am about to grow a couple of Sativa's, and wondered if their longer flower time will mean that they will root for an extra week or so?? Just trying to plan pot sizes, veg times etc

Would appreciate your help on this, as searching "root development" or anything similar turned out far too many results, mostly unrelated :)

i dont know a thing about indicas, ive only ever grown landrace sativas, they definately dont stop growing, in fact sativas are known to get root rot/bound late in flowering.

your probly growing some hybrid even if its sativa dom its not the same as a 20 week sativa..but being root bound isnt necesarilly bad, i have 8 flowering plants sharing 2 gallons of dirt they are 4ft tall and will each yield 2-3ozs with no veg..but thats a sativa, no holding em back..besides if they get root bound just foliar feed

OK thanks, that gives me some idea, and yes, they are hybrids, one with 11-13, and the other 12-14 weeks flowers (quoted). Quite looking forward to trying sat dominant strains now, even with the 4 month seed to smoke wait....luckily i'll have some indi's to keep me out of trouble :)

the high is worth it man, not much bag appeal but the more you smoke the higher you get, plus it doesnt matter if youve been smoking all day, take a few hits and your wide awake, alert ,thoughts racing
