Do i really need an air stone in DWC

hey guys, just wondering if i really need an air stone in my DWC set up when i have a water pump and misters + sprayers in my bucket?
my water pump is silent and my air stone is load as, thats why i would like to get rid of the air stone if possible
what do you all think? is it ok to just use the water pump?

As long as the water isn't stagnate you should be ok without the airstone.

U need a airstone so ur plants can breath especially when ur roots are completely under the water

That is amazingly untrue. Need proof?

Many many growers use them here without airstones.

OP, what you NEED to do is duct tape the exterior of that tote. Light is going to get to those roots and cause root rot. The reservoir NEEDS to be 100% light proof or root rot will happen. That is a guarantee.

yea i havent gotten to the stage the ill need the bucket just yet, i have the plants in my small cloner for the time being, im just setting the big one of up and ive realised the air stone is so damn loud that it kind of ruins it being stealth at all

theres my grow so far, im in the process of setting the cab up now and thats why im curious about using just the water pump

As long as the water is moving oxygen is being added to the water. Look at a river, it has no air stones, just moving water.

yeah no need if you've got those misters. use foil tape instead of duct tape though because even duct tape lets light through

I would run an air pump with stones. I even have one in my aero cloner

you really dont have to, but it doesnt hurt.
if the water pump goes out, it turns from an aero setup to a DWC, and your plants can survive long periods if going unnoticed.
