do i need to cure if i'm only baking?

i just cut my plants and want to make butter out of the whole crop. do i need to cure the plants first or can i just dry and convert to butter?

I would at least water cure. It will take all of the chlorophyll out.

I have never tried this but you could save time and drop the wet buds in water, cure for a few days, and then throw right into water / butter.

No you dont need to cure it, you are only after the dry, ripe trichomes, which is what you have after drying. Curing isnt going to increase the thc so i dont see why it matters

No you don't need to. Fact is, you dont "need" to cure bud you're smoking either, it will just improve the taste.
Personally i make most of my edibles from trim that has had not cure at all, it goes from the plant to the freezer to the butter\oil. I've never had anyone complain about the flavour or quality.

Heres a big bottle of canola i did a while back.

No absolutely not. Chlorophyll will NOT get transferred to the butter as it is not a lipid. Just go ahead and bake em up.
