1x 420watt led pannel.

Need a 6 way timer... Do i need spend more to get contactor timer 100quid....or is led different?

You’re pulling less than 7 amps. Get a timer rated for 8 or more amps and you’ll be good.

Heya bro ty for reply
My hids are only 3.3amp each too but told i need contactor relays so i use them lol.

Wudnt that be the same rule on them then?
If so then i need a contactor

Contactors are usually used in higher current and higher cycling conditions. Are contactors superior?...absolutely. Are they needed?....probably not.

A good timer works with a relay, basically its a electrical switch that can handle high loads.
The other type works when two points connect and let current through, at the point of contact the flash/arc can reach 5,000c and weld the two together or burn it out.

A regular digital timer works with a relay and can handle up to 13 amps.
