Do I have to Induce Flowering once i see Preflowers?

Ok so im lookin at my girl clone that has been vegging for about 3 weeks.. and she is about 2' tall and very healthy overall appearance and steady daily growth...

Ive read my "Medical Marijuana Growers Bible" throughly (hence my silence here on the forums) and im somewhat confused...


If i keep it on the 18/6 light cycle I can keep it in a vegetative phase...

or

I can go ahead and induce flowering

right?


Do I have to induce flowering once i see the preflowers?

I want to keep it in veg for another few weeks and get it chest high or so.

Also I can go ahead and pull my clones now right?

Ya, its just the plant is only 2' high... wtf will that yield lol... diddly squat.

How do these guys get these monsterous plants with 1" stems? They would have to keep it in Veg for months...

veg as long as u want thats how u keep moms. Just make sure they are getting enough light . Clone now if you want and flower the two footer or keep as mom its ur choice . If I'm wrong someone please correct me. I hear many diff things about like its good to change moms after a while but im not sure if its really needed .

I say chop the bitch down and take clones. Root them then flower under a SCROG setup.

1) are the first indicative sign of which sex the plant is
2) preflowering lasts between 1-2 weeks at which time you CAN induce flowering by putting plant in 36hrs of PURE DARKNESS prior to going to 12/12 cycle.

so with that im gonna pull clones in a week.. and grow this fucker another couple feet.

What kind of light are you using...?

There is almost no reason to grow a plant that is 2 feet tall.. I iknow a lt of people suggest 3-6 weeks of vegging....

I have included a picture of a plant that I induced flowering at day 15 from seed (4-5 inches tall)... the plant yielded 3+ounces...

that plants looks amazing GK. and actually, In my 7 grows I've flowered at about 22 days of veg for 5 of them and always yield enough to make it quite worth it

But yeah incog.. why do you want a plant that big? If your lighting isn't the best (idk what you're using, sorry) it'd make more sense to flower the plant now so you wont waste nutrients and time with the bottom of the plant cause i doubt itll get much light. once you flower the plant is going to get WAY bigger and the light wont even penetrate to the bottom so its not like you'll get much more of a yield.

the longer the veg the bigger the plant. you can veg as long as you'd like. you can take cuttings at any time now.

you don't have to switch to 12/12 after pre-flowers appear. plants can be very short (less than twelve inches high) and still have one-inch thick stems.

a large plant will also yield MORE... as long as you can provide adequate light.. if YOU can not provide adequate light.. a BIG plant is useless.. a waste... kinda like a BIG hard on without a nice yummy poon...

I think im gona veg another 3 weeks.... i have had it veg for 3 already...

You can see my current setup in my gallery... its basically 4x 2' fluorescent grow lights (OTT-Lite and Gro-Lux) with 2x 100w CFL's... I will be upgrading in the future to a single two bulb x 4' T5 fixture and i will mount my current Fluorescents vertically behind the plants....

I got a deal on a 250w HPS for $50 with 7 new bulbs from craigslist that i am picking up on friday!!!

Also on the topic of cloning...

Im not sure exactly where to make my cuts .... as you can see there are only a couple lower branches to begin with and if someone could be so kind and really help me out and edit my photos with Paint or photoshop and put the cut locations in for me that would f'ing rock!! I only need maybe 3 clones max for now.

You don't need to veg anymore.. you can fower now and get the same yield you wil get if you veg 3 more weeks... UNLESS you plan on adding a SHIT more light... as it is, you need a lot more light to maximize the yield from your current plant..

If you have your heart set on 3 more weeks of veg, you should consider CLONING your plant in the next couple days.. take 10 clones from HER... then let her grow for 5-7 more days.. then flower...

SHE is very tall already and if you let her veg for 3 more weeks.... she is probably gonna get a serious GANGSTA LEAN.... lol

Well guys i got my 250 HPS last nite for 50 bux! The guy gave me a box of bulbs.. like 7 of them but i have no idea what color temps they are... is there any standard to them or a way to know i can flower from these bulbs or should i go buy a new bulb that i know what the color temp is?

I think i read somewhere that the standar hps bulb is warm unless it says otherwise????????? so i should be able to use almost any of them??? Ive been plugging in the different bulbs and they give off a reddish/orange light. Whereas my florescents are like pure bright white.

Also can someone take one of my pics and show me where exactly to get my clones??

Theres only like 2 branches on the bottom and i dont know how "much" or "how big" a single clone has to be to cut it. Like how big of clones do i wanna cut from this plant?

Can i even get 10 clones off this?? Im struggling to find 3 to pull off of it.

Okay see if someone could do something similar to this for me that would be kickass!

Am I right how I would clip this? Look at the pic.

The red line shows the clip of the clone itself... the black line shows that after the clone is cut i would cut that fan leaf off to encourage upwards growth...

and when i do clone, can i get clones from all over the plant or do i just wanna take them from the bottom?

Hi INCOGNITO..

the proper way to clone that branch would be to cut that branch at the VERY lowest point where it comes out of the main branch.. Then turn it into 2 clones... That branch is not going to give ANY decent BUDS... you should cut it, even if you don't clone it..

You will learn to spot all of these LAME ass branches as you get a few grows under your belt...

That plant is stretched and should be FLOWERED NOW...
