Do i have enough room?

Hey everyone. heres my situation... I have 3 magic bud(feminised), 6 white widow, and 6 northern light X Big Bud seedlings about a week old. I have a large garage and i plan on making a hidden top level as the grow room. There are rafters going across the top, and from the peak of the ceiling to the rafters is 6.5'. I was wondering if i had enough room to make a floor on top of the rafters and hang the light from the ceiling. Will i have to top the plants so they wont grow as tall? I would also like to hear any advise you might b able to give me as i am new at this. Thanks in advance for your responses

First of all ... be sure the rafters will be able to support your grow. Soil and water, plus all the equipment is heavy. Also, you'll need a way to get up there that's not a big pain in the butt. Then, you'll have to worry about light leaks, both from a stealth standpoint and also to keep things dark during the flowering cycle. The headroom is completly OK.

You have a lot of plants. Have you given consideration as to how much wattage you want to run?

I agree with Vi. First thing to do is make sure it will hold all that weight. Then will that be a fire hazard up there. Plus venting. Hot air rises and where will it go? You will have to have a good ventaliton system.

thanks... i have thought about all of the above on several occasions. i plan on running a 600 watt hps and i am expecting to have constant ventilation. Im pretty sure the rafters will hold, but for good measure i might increase the floor space so i have more surface area to distribute the weight over... thanks again for the advise, i think i might be in business
