Do feminized seeds have a high hermie rate?

i have 2 grows under my belt. ive only used femd seeds. (ak-48). out of 10 seeds all were female. none were hermies. i just couldnt grow regular seeds and waist my time on males. femd seeds all the way!!

I got 2 hermies out of 6 femd jack herrers. Probably stress related tho in the first week my fan went out and temps raised to 95 while I was at work

You have a SLIGHTLY greater chance with fems, generally speaking, but it all boils down to the quality of the genetics, skill of the grower, and SKILL OF THE BREEDER!

I completely agree!! Fem'd seeds from local people and such tend to have a great chance of herming simply because they dont know what they are doing. They dont understand or even know for that matter that just because they had a plant go herm that those seeds arent stable. They need to cross and recross within the strain to stabilize it. I dont know the specifics, but i do know that most people get a seed, and call it whatever. If you cross two plants, get a seed, grow it, it herms, gives you more seeds, that doesnt mean youve made a stable feminized seed.

yes bananas are what concerns m3 the most

they are devious
Bottom line, you should always get more bananas with 5-10 regular seed than you will with 5-10 feminized seeds. And that is why I get feminized, so far only Nirvana genetics/strains. 5 out of 5 are females so far, they are flowering with no signs of bananas. I'm much happier growing females plants that may or may not have a slightly higher chance to grow bananas, than to grow plants and hope that they are female AND hope they don't show any bananas.

I've grown 30 plants in the past year, all 30 were Femenized... All 30 stayed Femenized.. Even if on this next grow I get a hermie or three I'm still sold. I just take note of the breeder with the greatest success and stay with them.

It depends on the breeder but generally fems produce more hermies then normal seeds. For a good pack of fems you should plan on having 80-90% females and 10-20% males/hermies. Really bad breeders will produce extremely mixed results (anywhere from 50-50 fem to hermi ratios or much worse with some men thrown into the mix). In any case, just buy normal seeds, sex them out, and then clone you're best females. Starting from seed every time is a pain in the ass. At least with clones you know, the quality of bud you'll have will always be the same and you know it will be female every time (permitting it wasn't stressed to hermi).

maybe this is stupid but why would u spend the money for fem seeds and keep buying them when you can make ur own seeds providing you get a male and female out of a pack. you never have to buy that strain again.

You can make femmed seeds from females that have been forced to grow bananas and you can make em from genetic hermaphrodites. The later has a change of passing on the genetic herm gene whereas the first has very little chance if it comes from a stable non herming strain.

Yup, just buy from a good breeder/website and you're pretty good
