Do Black trash bags need holes in them?

My grow op this year is already better than last . Found a good spot on top of a hill.
Today I dug 4 3'x3' holes and i was gonna put the bags in then add better quality soil.
Do the bags need drainage.
Im not sure but I think the advice came from ranger danger on a old thread somewhere
