Do anybody use foxfarm?

Ignore the naysayers. I've been growing with Fox Farm soils and nutrients for MANY years with nothing but wonderful results. I grow exclusively in soil indoors (1000w MH & HPS lights) anymore and I currently use a combo of straight and recycled FFOF mixed with some extra perlite in 3.5 or 5 gallon pots. With nutrients you want to obviously start at about 1/2 recommended dosage, and then adjust for your strain. I don't dick around with growing all kinds of different strains anymore --- I like to focus on one and try to do the most with it I can. Currently focused on Kurple Fantasy from Imperial Genetics, and this strain LOVES heavy nutes! I've grown some (particularly Sativas or heavily sativa-leaning hybrids) that didn't benefit from / couldn't handle much in the way of nutes, But this KF really does nicely running the entire Fox Farm regimen (minus Flowers Kiss [I don't do foliar feeding], Wholly Mackerel, and Kangaroots. I've never been able to verify any benefits from the use of those 3) and at full recommended strength. The only thing I can say bad about FF nutes is that I usually have to add Cal-Mag. There's lots of misinformation out there and everyone has an opinion regarding nutes and most are typically brand-loyal. Experiment and find what works for you and your situation. I know what has worked for me for years, but I won't go bashing other brands of gear. Some of them have legitimate usefulness, some are simply snake oil for internet "experts"/suckers. Most brands line-ups will work quite well if you take the time to really dial in your processes for a particular strain. Good luck, and good growing!!

If you feel like your plant is missing somthing you can just supplement with some calmag or whatever you want. I always give my plants a helping of black strap molasses in between feedings too,

Always been told fox farm is a very strong nutes and the soil is very heavy,and some batches are stronger than others.:peace:

Mr Green Do you flush with the sledgehammer after veg/ b4 going into flower? I am growing in 5gallon fabric pots I have heard 3X the pot size so would I really need 15 gallons of water per pot?

Why is that? I've grown in coco and it was a pain.
Do you enjoy doing 4 tests every time you feed? Or do you like to add extra cal-mag? (unless you use a 2 part nute)
Organic rules supreme if you can get your soil dialed in. Just add water & watch it grow. What could be easier?
I'm doing an experiment now with a hillbilly air pot -- hempy style w/large coco chips. Not very impressive yet because she's getting minimal light until space is available in the tent. I'm sure the roots have already hit the res but I'm draining it until the plant gets full light.

Cal/mag defiecencies in coco are a pain in the arse ive used coco for a bit and agree with you chunky,its a pain in the arse,plants show over nute, under nute too much hassle but i have had it dialled in properly b4 still wasnt much better than soil,i like using plagron bat soil never had any problems at all...love the stuff just a littke pricey.:peace:

I just got tired of testing ph & ppm in my nutes AND runoff every time I fed them. My ph pen started acting up, which made it extra fun. Never knew what number the fucking thing would wake up with, but my tap water is 7.25 so I'd have to do the math to figure out the actual number.
Worst PH pen *ever*. :wall:

Well rule of thumb is if you let you're ph Pen DRY UP you need soak in tap for a few min then use perfect 7.0 solution use a tiny flat head and adjust it to calibrate shouldn't have to do that but maybe once every six months well I do at least and it is always one or two points off hope that helps you in the future

As for FFOF I swear by this soil as a stand alone I've had problems with certain strains that did not like it but you never learn if you don't experiment.My soil mixes that I tend to lean towards every grow is my base FFOF then I cut it either 50/50 or even 2-1 mixture with 3 different soils either ROOTS ORGANIC love this stuff a stand alone product but a really great mixer. Also SUNSHINE MIX #4 ADVANCED great mix with FFOF and the last mix soil is really poop lol I cut FFOF with chicken manure but these are my experiments that work for me and I don't feed nutes for about 3-4 weeks and I use FOX FARMS nute line and a few additives and my yields are always 4-6 oz per plants in 4 gal pots under a 400 hps lol I know that a small light but my colas are dense and the size of circle K 44oz cups every grow so I must be doing something right

I run coco and never check my runoff....just ph to 5.8-6.5 and done. if you ph 6's you get more cal mag uptake. but if you like to worry about over watering, bugs, mold and root rot in soil over adding a little cal mag to your water.....that's cool

Do you really think coco is immune from bugs, mold, and root rot???
Hell, I've got gnats in my coco now and have to spray hygrozyme to prevent stem rot!

Fox Farm is a 'hot' soil

I always say to mix in 20-30% perlite to avoid the forthcoming nute burn

to many growers new and old this is all they got

and in a world where everybody is jumping on the band wagon

this is the one I trust

to be honest I haven't used it in many years

I'm totally organic now and get my soils from the hippys down at the river

Fox Farm is great by even adding more perlite like 50/50 FFOF to perlite it will do you many grows with little amending

and gives you room to add your own nutes and teas without fear of the cursed nute burn

along with the added perlite it helps in avoiding compacted roots and aids drainage

its just expensive in some states is all

if you can't shop locally this is the one to get
