It seems that all strains I do that are 10-12 weka yield significantly more bud than most other strains
Is that a common thing ? Are am I growing the wrong 8weekers

my gmo 11week is my best strain so far just wish she took3 less weeks lol

Go check out beanbasement, they’re all running the same genetics and they’re actually done it 8 weeks. Some of the best weed I’ve ever seen as well, but no big fat colas unfortunately.

While this has been anecdotally true ime, it doesn't continue the further you go. 14-16 weeks are not always the higher yielders
I’ve only had a handful go that long and for me they’re usually airy foxtail garbage lol.

It becomes necessary in my experience with higher sativas...I'm getting a cut of Columbian Gold and was told to expect 22 weeks lol. Don't know when I'll ever flip it but should be good breeding stock.
Nothing beats genetics though. High yielders yield high..heh

Most plants harvested at 8 weeks are premature, and would absolutely weigh more if harvested at 10 or even 12 weeks. They go through a period of rapid weight gain at the very end, which a lot of people miss and end up with grassy, less dense bud. A lot of people start harvesting too early from their first grow, and just continue on with the practice, so I like to suggest leaving a single plant, or even a couple of branches, on the plant when you harvest at 8-10 weeks, and just let it keep growing beyond when you would normally harvest. That way you can see for yourself the difference, and if it matters to you. My friends who've done this all grow their plants for longer now, except for 1 guy who is very focused on yield over time vs pure quality.

Not always IME. Strain dependent.
A true 8 week strain is a beautiful thing.
Plus the extra time for 10 weeks (20-25% longer) means a new run could have been started that much sooner.
Depends what your priorities are. I would focus on the strain and final product vs a week or two difference.

If they were fully rooted in veg, I have had a couple hybrids that were done in 8 weeks from flip. Sometimes the first week or two after flip is extra veg if the plant isnt fully rooted in the pot and filled in, ime.

Don't think I've ever ran a strain that took 8 weeks from flipping.

Beautiful exactly

I am currently looking at karmas acid dawg and sowah both are 10-12weekers heavy yielders but 10weekers

my onlyheavy plant is cheese 56days but it’s weak ass shit I hate it lol

I do like sour diesel strains and dawg so both in harmony

pcg have some heavy as shit yielders but most are 10wk too

I’m struggling to find a quality genetic that yields crazy at 8 week

terphogz wrekon they got a 45day strain but it’s outa stock lol surprise

I have, Bubba's Gift had amber trichomes after 60 days in flower for me counting from the day of 12/12 flip. Completely ripe, swollen calyxes with pistils barely visible. I have a Purple Sunset by ETHOS that is 7 weeks into flower looking damn near done where the other 3 are definitely behind but showing totally different characteristics. 60 day harvest is not fiction.
