DMT EXtraction= SOlvent not turning yellow??

SO i recently put about 235 g of mhrb in a 750ml wine bottle, filled it with 2 cups distilled water and about 3 tblspoons of 100% lye, I then used VM&p naptha for the solvent gave it a stir here and there, And its now ben about an hour and i took out my first pull and it was still clear as when i first poured the Naptha in?? does any1 know why this is? should i still try to evap? any ideas would be appreciated thanx...

Yellow is not ideal...the clearer the solvent, the whiter the crystals will be. If your solvent is yellow, its pulling crap out of the solution.

Not sure what tek you're using for the recipe but SWIM uses 15:1:1 water:MHRB:lye ratio for his STB and gets consistently clear pulls saturated with DMT using .5mL VM&P per gram MHRB. You can try to evap to see if you are pulling anything but I think you are probably going to have to add more water and lye to get anything.

Hey sslw. thanks for responding, well im using a stb tek guess it looked easier than done, but ne ways i think i probly do have my ratios all messed up, so i dont really have much room left for any water but i added 3 more table spoons of lye, and this time the bottle actually got hot from the reaction like i read it would, before it didnt so that could of ben the problem. So i pulled theVM&P out and got it sitting by the fan it looks just as clear as when i first poured it, but hopefully i do get sumthin out of it. When you say you do you ratio 15:1:1 do you mean you add 15 ml of water? oh and another question i would rather use a plastic bottle, would a milk jug work? thanx again 4 sa response!!

Yes, 15mL of water per 1 gram each of bark and lye. Your solution is too saturated with bark and probably not alkaline enough to draw the good stuff out. More water and lye will increase your yields. And yeah, step up to a bigger jug. Check the number in the recycling symbol at the bottom and if its a #2 HDPE, it is safe to use. SWIM uses milk jugs for mixing and qt mason jars for decanting the solvent. With as much bark as you're using, you should end up with enough water/bark/lye to fill a gallon sized milk jug.

thats what I would do before switching bottles and etc.. more lye and a day, i bet that will increase yeilds alot.

Whats up everone thanks for all the replies!, well i put the solvent in the freezer last night around 8:00pm then i just checked up on it at 11:30am and i was very surprised to see that there was a shit load of crystals on the bottom of the bowly thingy i used lol, I know i should be super excited and i am but im alittle worried cuz the crystals kinda look alot like the lye i used(Grounded kind?) And i know i got alilbit of the black gunk in the solvent but i figured it wasnt enough to do any damage, i have pictures that im gonna try to attach, i already tried once and had to rewrite this reply aarrgghh, But if yyou can tell if it is dmt please let me know.

Looks like DMT crystals to me. Separate, dry, and enjoy. Depending on how much lye you sucked up into the solvent, you may want to redissolve the crystals in the solvent and wash with a sodium carbonate solution to get the contamination out. Clean crystals burn much smoother and smell a whole lot better.

1 lye wont go into naptha.
2 make sure that bowl thingy your using is safe to use with naptha

hey whats up, well things got a lil complicated since i last wrote here, So i figured everything was good with the dmt so i drained as much of the naptha from the dmt as i could and put it back in da frezzer, and i checked back on it a few hours later and it seems thatmost of the crystals clumped up together on top of sum frozen black piece, and as i was looking closer at it it eventually started warming up cuz it was out the freezer, and i noticed it was MHRB/lye and it started to turn all the dmt a dark brown color. So i put some more naptha and bought sum ph plus and put two pinches in some tap water and then mixed it with solvent filtered it out, afew times and put it back in the freezer, i hope this does'nt affect the yeild cuz it was a decent amount. And im not sure if i should leave it in the freezer to evap totally, or do i bring out to air dry for final product??

Don't worry about the crystals containing lye, it is not absorbed into naphta. The only way to get some of the bark mix is through clumsy transfer.
I always suggest you pour all the naphta in a container as you pull it, then transfer that to your evap dish... the tea contaminants tend to stick to the glass.

pour off naphta and stick container back into freezer while last drips evaporate.
You need to work fast as the naphta will melt your DMT as the temperature rises.

ok so i poured out most the naptha and i noticed on the side of the hdpe2 jug there are really white fluffy crystals sticking to it, but as soon as i take it out the freezer they evaporate, i really wanna scrape these out, is there any way to do it before they melt away??

its likely residual water suspended in the naptha that has been frozen and melt when you take it out of the freezer. naptha holds a TINY bit of water and freezing it would precipitate ice crystals.

Don't stress just pour the naphta back into your bark ttea for another pull, there is still some dmt left in the naphta and the bark.. when it looks like you get no more from percipitation thenm evaporate the last naphta off.
