plastic fan works....i think real thin gauge sheetmetal glued just on ends of fan blade will make a big difference. high speed works best.
clean cuts but takes multiple passes...still faster than scissor cuts. the modifications were to remove wiring....unscrew motor mount plates on both sides of motor...give the cylindrical magnetic thing a 90 degree rotation...reassemble...and cut the front and back screen however you see fit.

bro, you realy need to put up a video step by step of what need to be done
i think the glueing is a bad idea
they need to be screwed on

well i tried to post a video of the thing in action but youtube isnt liking me when i try.
it really isnt that hard...u just turn the shaft around...its a matter of removing two screws and flipping the thing that rotates and spins the shaft (some electromagnetic bearing) switching wires did not do the job. i was shying away from screws as they would have to be set perfect or the balance of the fan will be off. the steel willl be close to the thickness 3-5 pieces of paper....will be about 1/2"-1" wide and fit the contour of the edge of the blade....i will do all this come next harvest.

Wal-Mart has a metal-bladed fan with a metal grill for about $38.00 that I might try. Looks like it'd work perfectly.

Yeah that looks just like the one I saw for $38.00. I'd just use that man, why switch em around and frankenstein it?

Well if you took a fan with metal blades, or took some metal rulers like somebody said and ground them down at a 45 degree angle they could be glued and then drilled and secured to whatever fan blade via small bolts and nuts. Then to balance the new blades you just hang it on a nail on the wall to see which side needs ground down some more to make it balanced, just like with a lawnmower blade.
