Looked back and cant find a spreadsheet for the cxb3590. I usually download all of them so maybe it doesnt exist?

@SupraSPL

Oops I think I used Supra's CXA3590's numbers, didn't realize there was so much difference in voltage ^^

Thanks, I stand corrected !

So a HLG 185 C700B can also run 4 CXB3590, yippi ! ;)

Edit : Do we have one of these but for CXB3590 and CXB3070 ? : https://www.rollitup.org/attachments/cxa3590-kk-png.3327436/

For CXB 3590 found this, still ooking for cxb3070 .. :

another question for the drivers...
in case i drive 2 cxb3590 from a hlg120h-c1400A can i dimm them to 1050... whats the benefit in terms of efficiency?
this way i could go for a A version and don't have to wait for a B version of the driver or as i was thinking... buy the 1050 version of the hlg185?
same question for the cxb3070... i planned on driving 4 of them from a hlg185h-c1400A the only version i can find.
if i dimm them whats the gain?
thank u guys.

hlg120h-c1400A will not run 2 cxb3590 @ 1.4A, thats 220W.

(unless you are now talking about the 36V version in which cas you would be at 70%load ..)

What went wrong with perfect match : 2cxb3590 & hlg120hc1050 ?

Yes, hlg185 1400 would also be a perfect match for 4 cxb3070.
(@1400mA : AB bin will give you 45.43% efficiency, and AD bin would give you 48.02% efficiency)

Nope : hlg185 will not run 4 cxb3590 @1050, as a matter of fact, it wouldn't even run 3 ... :

EDIT : I was planning on powering 20 cxb3070 with a HLG 120C 1050, as I'm planning on running my COBs soft. Say 0.5~0.875A.

But I just realized the HLG 185H C 1400 is equally or more efficient at every given currents than the 120 .. :
Even @350mA :
HLG 120 is at 31% load
HLG 185 is under 25% load
But the 185 has the same (if not better) efficiency than the 120. So, aside from price, there is no advantage in choosing the HLG 120 over the 185H.

Yeah and the difference in price is like $5.
But there's another thing. Load vs load. Fully used driver dimmed to 50% is (much) more efficient than the one with full current and half the voltage used.

for me it's a question of availability....
thank you anyway for the answers,
i think i did not use my brain at all lol...
this makes HLG 185H-c1400 is hte best option to power both 2 CXB359 and 4 CXB3770...
i'll have to wait a little... or i'll just go for the A version because it'll be eanough for me to dimm the cxb3590 to 1050ma permanenly and i' good.
thaks for your replys guys. now its very clear.

Can't find any HLG 185 ?!
Can't you order online ?

I just got a quote on alibaba ; 49$/peice for 5 HLG185 + 70$ shipping lead time about 10 days..
and from someone else 55$/peice for HLG 120 + 65$ shipping ..

Now that's an easy choice !;)

thank u EW , i got some quotes from alibaba, yes. the best one was a 50$ / peice + 45 $ shiping but when i was about to order they said they didn't have the B version and there is also the uncertainty of tax charges when they arrive in the EU.
i then searched for EU sellers and Found the A version of the hlg 185 for just 2$ more shiping included...
i think i'll go for the A version...

You'd have to pay taxes when ordering from China (IDK where you are from, but it's about 25% altogether in my country).

You haven't searched much, I guess. You can order from here.

mouser actually would be perfect...they offer free shiping no tax8)
but they don't have 1400 version available...for now.
so i'm waiting just a little more just to have some more options otherwise i found the A version of the hlg 185 for some $ less than mouser... i plan to have the drivers outside the grow room(in some sort of panel in the wall just beside the grow room) so dimming directly from them should not be a big problem. What do you think?
appreciate your help. thanks Alesh.

You're right, sorry. I missed that they're on order, not in stock.

Yes, you can do that. As long as the driver has enough voltage for what you are putting on it...the driver doesn't care what it is.
I'm pretty sure @Positivity was running some deep reds with his CXA on the same string all at ~1a on one driver.

I'm planning on using the Kapton Tape + thermal paste method, but I was wondering about the connections, and safety ...

- Does anyone apply any kind of acrylic/silicon varnish to make the connections safe ? Other technique .. ?

Thanks

That's why you run 700ma HLG-185H's and you can get 5 off a 500ma.
