picked the screen up at the local college bookstore. It is 12xx silk screen. Has 124 weaves per inch. The circles are cut out of 1/2" plywood held together by pieces of 1/4"all-thread. Check out ocanabis's post at www.thcfarmer.com He uses a bbq rotiserie and has one of the best step-by-step tutorials ever. Pics for each step as well. Worth checking out

sweet thank you. that looks just about how i figured it would. but i was thinking about using stainless steel screen instead of silk screen.
 
No problem. I think the stainless would be the cats ass. The silk seems to shed little silk hairs on the first few run throughs. I used silk because that was all I could find in town. I am not patient enough to wait on the mail when ordering things online. Best of luck on the building project!

Nice job on the tumbler.Thats pretty good for a 1st attempt.
I would like to make a suggestion.Looking at your screen you should try and get it tighter.From the pics it looks to be a little loose.If you can get it tighter it will allow for more glands to fall through.
I use a socket wrench for turning these days instead of the motor or drill.
.Don't spin it to fast with your drill either cause you'll loose some of the precious stuff through the top as it fly's out.I tried using the same method on my 1st attempt's and came back to a dusty table lol.

I tried and tried to get the screen tight, but, that was as tight as I could get it and I got sick of trying with no better results each time. I have some ideas on how I can get it tighte next time. The drill just barely creeps along. That is why I don't think the batteries will last that long. Anyways, it works unil i can find a bbq rotisserie motor.

Did you use the double sided tape a long the edges of the wood ?

If you did then here's how you can stretch the screen tighter

Place your screen on the floor.
Place the Tumbler on the screen
Peel back a few inch's of the double sided tape back
Hold the tumbler with your knee's while using your hands to pull and stretch the screen and pushing the screen down with your thumbs onto the tape.

Buy using your knee's to hold it steady it free's your hands to apply the screen to the dbl sided tape.
Once you have gone all the way around applying the screen to the tape then you can secure the clamps

I did use the double sided foam on the wood. I stuck and un-stuck the screen so many times trying to get it perfect, that I finally said "F it, good enough!" My next one will be much better. Thanks for all of your help!

Try using a 1" wooden dowel (closet pole would work well) and roll the screen tightly onto it like a spool. Then lay your drum onto the floor and roll them like gears, the screen roll going one way, the drum going the other. That should give you the ability to keep it taut while you secure it as you go. bongsmilie
 
Personally I think the tumbler stuff needs it's own thread, Idk if aeviaanah cares but it's a slight thread hijack and we should try and keep this one focused on the kief box :)

-speaking of which, have you started working on the box yet?

Lol i was thinking the same thing....HIJACKED. Whatever tho, this is what open threads allow. I have started on the box, i recently started back at work and have to put it on hold...and of course, on the weekends, i am pretty busy as well...catching up on other stuff. I have the screen cut, and a few blocks of wood.
