DIY: Home Made CO2 Guide

Is there such a thing as CO2 overkill? I currently have five of these things going in a 2.5' x 4' x 8' grow room for 25 three week old plants. good? bad? no biggie?

I am sure I read something in one of these threads about how you want to keep the CO2 ppm around 1500 but I have no idea how much CO2 this diy CO2 generator can produce. Any ideas?

Btw, it could just be coincidence, but my plants have exploded with growth since I put the generators in there! :)

This is a great idea.. I was actually thinking up something like this but couldnt find the right pieces.. It so helpful having a botany and biology class.

And yeah im pretty sure you plants are loving that C02 from your generators. No I dont think theres anything such as a CO2 overkill, as long as you have a breeze going through there and maybe a little air from the outside just to make sure, your totally fine . Plants thrive off of CO2, light and water. Thats all they really need.

Awesome tutorial! I would hate to make a tutorial where noone read past the instructions when there are 20+ pages. Honestly everyone, read the Q&A's ALREADY ASKED, I read the whole thing and it really didn't take that long. I have seen the same 4 questions asked and answered the same. Ninja, props for keeping calm lol must be some dank :weed: that you're :joint: on. I personally woulda told people to read the whole thing rather than ask the same questions 100 times. I found this thread motivating. I just wanted to point out real quickly those Q&A's

WARM WATER ACTIVATES YOUR YEAST!

NOONE KNOWS HOW MUCH CO2 THESE PUT OUT!

YOU DO NOT NEED THE BUBBLING DEVICE ON THE TOP IT IS MERELY FOR MEASURING OUTPUT ONLY! USE A BALLOON WITH A TINY HOLE IN IT

YES YOU CAN OVER CO2 YOUR PLANTS! THESE WILL MORE THAN LIKELY NOT HARM YOUR PLANTS.

I believe those were the only things that caught my eye over and over...
Props to Ninja. I made mine and will let you know how it turns out.

Dry ice does put off a lot of co2 but I would suggests having a ppm meter if you are going to experiment with co2. CO2 POISONING IS POSSIBLE FOR HUMANS. Lets face facts, you really don't want cops and firefighters and emt at your place because of co2 poisoning, plus try to explain that 1.

For a system with a bit more output, one can use a 5 gallon bucket. One alternative would be to use more than one air-lock. I found a large plate that sealed the top, while allowing CO2 to escape, and instead of shaking the bucket, I put a small pump in the reservoir, that I ran for a minute, whenever I visited the grow-room.
Not to run away with your thread - just another take on the same idea. Hope that was OK.

So what do you do with the co2 bottle/s during the dark period? Oh I know, put them in the veg room!

I have been leaving mine in the veg room at night seems to be best cuz my fan is also on the same timer as my lights. That way the plants get to marinate in CO2 all night. :hump:
