DIY Ebb & Flow - I'm learning!

Looking superb Belle, glad to see ur passion for the beloved plant resurected from the painful, spider mite pits:-) I think you've found ur hydroponic niche! Keep them beautiful buds growin!
Thanks! When I'm on my game, I'd almost rather grow the stuff than smoke it. I do love a pretty plant... LOL

I just noticed the oddest thing. Those Bubba 76 plants have a real skunky smell (my favorite) and the Poison smells like strawberries...honestly! But the two together have my whole house smelling like maple bacon. It's the oddest combination. I woke up starving this morning. :bigjoint:

Well folks, its the weekend and that means time to play in the garden. Tomorrow will begin week 6 which means that this grow is coming to a conclusion soon. Both strains are supposed to be done in 8 weeks and the Bubba 76 I grew before was fully done in 56 days before.

Here's a few pics from last night and this morning.

This is one of my current favorite pics of the Poison

And, with that outta the way, my brand new "Vegetation Station" is now in operation. I decided on DWC for the veg station and then I think I can safetly move them to the ebb n flow table once the current grow is done.

And the new ladies for Grow 2 this year are Flash Back #2 (Sweet Seeds), Hypnotic (G13 Labs), and Blue Mystic (Nirvana Seeds)

They all look sweet, but that two-headed monster looks really special. My eyes started watering just from looking at the pics. lol I can almost smell them from here. Hope it's not driving the hubby crazy.

I will go out on a limb here and guess that you are going to get more than 180g from this grow....a lot more! I'm really happy everything is still going so well this late in the grow, too. Great job, Belle.

Well, well, well... I'm having a bit o' difficulty getting the next grow started. As you may recall, I planted three seeds: Blue Mystic, Hypnotic, and FlashBack #2. Of the three, only the Blue Mystic actually did anything noteworthy. The FlashBack died almost immediately after germinating so I replaced it with Exodus Cheese, which is now doing fine, but is now 5 days behind Blue Mystic. Then the Hypnotic decided to crap the bed after opening her first baby leaves. She never did produce real ones. So I ditched that one and popped a Pepper Jack Haze, which is now 10 days behind the Blue Mystic. But germinated in the first 12 hours so I'm expecting great things from that one. Oh well... Is what it is now. The PepperJack Haze is going to take a week or two longer than the other two to finish too, just by genetic design.

Meanwhile, in the flower tent, all is looking delicious and smelling like cat piss in bong water. We are in the middle of week 7 and my ladies are getting fat. Here's a few pics.

Sweet porn!!! They are looking great! Especially that first pic, it belongs in High Times magazine or something. It looks so sticky, too. lol That's going to be fun to trim.

Sorry you're having some problems getting the new ones going....Perhaps you can do some topping or lst work on the blue mystic to keep them at around the same height. I am a huge fan of both of those techniques.

Actually, I plan to do a little of both with this next grow. I am only putting three plants in (should be a relief after the jungle I've been coping with) and I'm gonna let them get wide before I switch them to flower. My goal this time is to match my Grow 2 yield (3 plants) to my Grow 1 yield (12 plants). I hoping for a minimum of 10 zips from this harvest.

It's hard to tell, but the bud in pic 3 is a foot long. I have several of those! And pic 4 is a bad angle, but that's the two-header and both heads are longer and fatter than a lighter.

Hey, thought I'd throw up a few more pic of my flower ladies. This is the hardest time of the grow for me... when I know they are nearly done.

Looking great, Belle. That's always the hardest time of the grow for me, too. When my plants get to that stage I always try to project a date to begin the harvest, and almost always end up starting the harvest a few days beforehand lol.

If they are half as good as they look like they will be, you are gonna be one happy camper....even if you never do find your favorite pants. hahaha

Well, the final countdown has begun! I am harvesting next weekend. I did a full res change (the kind that involves a shop vac) and gave my girls Final Phase and proper pH. That's it for the last week. I like Final Phase as opposed to a full on flush for a whole week. I'll get some final week pics soon.

And now, my folly... I took a nice size top of Bubba 76 on day 49 and quick dried it. I don't normally take such a large "sample", but well... one minute I was standing there admiring and then I saw a dead leaf I wanted to pluck... on the back wall... out of reach. But I'm pretty obsessive and once seen, it had to go. So I stretched through and got it. And broke a top. So, I snipped it, popped it in the oven and SHAZAM!

It doesn't really show well in the picture, but she is so covered in trichomes that she sparkles. And although she may look like a lady, she punches like a prize fighter! I packed a bowl, took two hits and forgot I owned a bowl...and I'm no lightweight.

Good looking how many bulb is that t5 and what bulbs you using
Thanks! The T5 is a two bulb, 24" inch light... the lamps in there now are 5000k. I borrowed that from a friend to get a jump on the next grow. Still having trouble getting a third seed going. Blue Mystic and Exodus Cheese are definitely up and running, but so far Flash Back #2, Hypnotic, Northern Lights/Big Bud, and PepperJack Haze have all failed to grow. I'm starting to think the third pot is jinxed.

Okay, I am pissed. I was admiring my girls, and back in the corner I saw it... SPIDER MITES. I thought I had won that war. I think it was contained to just the one Poison plant in the corner so I yanked her. It was the last week anyway. I carefully examined the rest and don't see any signs at all. And in truth, it was just one limb that had fallen over into the corner so maybe it really was just a very light scattering. I sprayed the area but not the flowering plants themselves. They really just have 6 more days. I'd like them to finish the week of Final Phase so I'm going to watch them carefully, but let them continue. They are really getting huge and I want it all!

However, one tiny sign that the mites are really there, and the whole room comes down.

Meanwhile, I only found mites on one bud and nothing on even the leaves of the rest of the plant so I tossed that bud and hope I'm good. The rest got trimmed up and is hanging to dry. I can't say I'm overly thrilled with the Poison in general. The yield is pretty scant and the plant had zero issues right up until today so it's not operator error. Might be due to space issues though. The roots looked good when I pulled her out and I was pleased with the overall branching and color. The plant just doesn't yield much. I'm thinking maybe 3/4 ounce off this one.

The Bubba is SOOOOO much more productive. I think there are single buds of Bubba that are gonna weight more than that whole plant produced. The other two Poison plants seem to have a bit more yield. the one I pulled was the smallest of the whole room. I gonna take that as a good sign.

As for the initial smoke report on the Bubba 76:

It's still a bit harsh since I quick dried it (over 3 days), didn't flush, and haven't cured. It has been steadily improving over time though. Today, I was pleasantly surprised when I opened my stash jar. It smells like CANDY... sweet, sugary candy. And tastes delicious. The finished product is going to be amazing. The high is very trippy and makes you right out stupid for about an hour. A good "get stuff done" high if the stuff you gotta get done is pretty mindless like housework or yardwork... LOL

I wouldn't attempt math.

I enjoy reading about your experiences sorry to hear about the mites I hate those little bastards.

The final days are coming to a close!!! I am getting so excited!

I've seen pictures of people's plants tied up and I never understood that. None of my wimpy ass plants have ever needed tying up before. But now, I get it. I actually have a couple of stems drying now because they got so heavy they broke. I've got the biggest of them tied up now for this last week. Friday night, the lights go off and stay off until Sunday morning, just like the beginning of flower. Then on Sunday morning, I begin harvest. The lights will stay off, but the plants will not all come out the same day. I'm a lone trimmer and I have arthritis in my hands. Luckily, I'll be trimming up lots of good meds for later!

Here's the room at large

And then a close up of the Poison

And the Bubba 76... Oh I am SO in love with this strain.

And I had myself a little arts and crafts time with scissors and glue sticks today at grown up kindergarten (work) and made this lighter for my lame ass son who keeps taking my lighters.

The sweetest part of the grow... They all look great, too! Sorry about the spider mites, but I am glad that if they had to show up, it was at the very end....just soon enough for you to notice them, but late enough that their impact was minimal. I have never had them before, and you better believe that I am knocking my hand on all pieces of wood within reach as I type this lol.

About 2 years ago I grew a strain that had a lot of bubba in it, and it was some killer stuff. I know your really going to love it. Better start resting up your hands, you have a lot to trim.:-)

haha I love the lighter you made for your son, that's hilarious!!

Smoking on a little raw Poison while the rest cures. Yummy. This plant was a little immature, but I yanked her due to the spider mites. Saved the tent, though. No signs of mites on any of the other plants. I ditched the one bud with pests and dried the rest. Only got 10 grams off this plant, but she was the smallest in the room and pulled about 2 weeks early so that's acceptable.
