Diy cooltube help

hey guys, i am building a diy cooltube from this idea...https://www.rollitup.org/1480992-post1.html

now, if you look at my module, there is just a white and black wire...on my chord there is a extra green wire that was attached to the piece of metal that was on my module from my hood it took it off of which i will not be using.. what do i do with this green wire? do i need it? can i just connect it to the steel tie i will be using in the cooltube pictures? lemme know, thanks

i believe the green wire is your ground....and you do need it...just cant tell you where to put it idk why
EDIT: i might be wrong but im sure you can just put the ground around the tie on the inside...not 100% sure tho

that green wire is ur ground
i believe u can hook it up to any piece of metal

you should be fine...just make sure you cant hit any hot wires wth your skin when the light is on....EDIT:finished my post cuz my high ass hit post before i could finish

You should hook it up to anything that runs directly to ground. It's sometimes referred to as an earth ground. Prevents unwanted shocks from happening.

Not technically. It needs to be connected where it goes directly to ground. The black wire is only a ground for the circuit.

The reason for the green wire is if the circuit somehow becomes open, instead of arcing to you, it will transfer through something (such as that metal case that you're not using) which will then lead it back to earth. Thus, the name "earth ground."

the temps of those bulbs can easily melt pvc. make sure you keep away from the pvc man

dude the green dont need to be connected, but if it makes you feel safe you can connect it to the metal strap. its just some sort of fail safe .
