you run the air and water pump 24/7.

Do you have a pic of the Irrigation manifold or irrigation hub you got at Walmart? Is it the divider for aquariums?

Why don't you join the BubbleHeads and enter the contest?
ya the actual setup is at my new house about 45 mins away im going there tonight to move shit into it....so ill take some pics tonight...no it was actually a irragation manifold for outdoor drip irrgation....it was made for a hose...but then i found a piece at home depot that went from pvc to the hose type screw in. ill take pics of it tonight...got it for 5 dollars in the gardening section...and worked out perfectly. and how do i join the contest and should i add that avatar to my sig? or am i allowed 2? I love this setup that u figured out how to make urself thats badass. i shoulda done it for my first grow...but i didnt know where to get all the shit and i got lazy...but im off and running now. thx alot for the info

Hey Roseman, I have the system, and I'm planning on building a growbox for it, so it can go under a house in open air storage, hoping you can give me some tips on the optimal dimensions and lighting for maximum yield from just the one system while still being a decently small operation. Thanks in advance. bongsmilie

I can't be too optimistic about an outdoor grow, even if in a box, it is going to be difficult.
I and the BubbleHeads are glad to advise you , look here:

Roseman's DIY Bubbleponics-DWC Tutorial

Roseman-
I have the six pod pubbleponics with a switchable ballast.
I have a problem with my pH not staying steady and the plants look like shit.
they are just a couple days since I transplanted them, but they all like sick.
My question is with a 400w MH light in a 3x3 grow tent, how high should I have the lights?

Bro, you need to read the first ten pages here, FAST, and asap:
Roseman's DIY Bubbleponics-DWC Tutorial

You will read about Spider Mite prevention, if you don't do something, you will get them. You wil read about Temeprature and Humdity and you will read alot about pH and water.

EVery day when I get home from work, my pH is 6.7 to 7.0. and everyday I knock it down to 6.0 (or 5.8, or 5.9, or 6.1, or 6.2 or 6.3, or 6.4) in slight increments, and every day I do it again. It is part of the maintenance.
What is the temp of your grow area? It is impossible to grow in a tent without some SUPER HEAT ventalation. What are you doing to decrease heat and what are your temps? Humidiity %? What is the water temp?
Have you read ans stuided what the temps are supposed to be of the grow area and the water?
What is your ph of your water? What water do you use?
When do you feed them??? and I hope you are nto using a full dose of nutes.

I don't use or know about the distance for the lights, but everything I read says do the hand test.

Yes. put your hands at the plant canopy, if your hand is the least bit uncomfortable, you are burning the Plant. Move the light up in this case. Start the light at 24" from the plant and see from there.

My temp is at 84*
My humidity is at 54%
I'm ventilating the tent with two bottom flaps open, might not be enough. I have a in line fan pulling hot air off the lamp and the cool tube.
I am using distilled water, Detroit city water has chloramine in it.
The only thing I have added to the water has been Root66.
Every 4 hours I check it and the water temp is the same as the tent temp, 83-84* and the pH is back up to 8.3 ish.
I've been following your other bubbleponics tutorial. I'll start from the beginning of this thread and see what the hell I'm doing wrong.

Roseman gives you the answer in his last post. You need to add Ph down to get the Ph in range, it is part of the maintenance program.

Bring the Ph in range otherwise you will surely have nute lock out.

Thank you JR and Roseman
I've added pH down twice today. It got back down, twice, and now its back up to 8. I followed the advice of Roseman in his tutorial, and put two chunks of charcoal in a nylon. I don't want to add anymore pH down today, so as not to shock the plants, so I will add them tomorrow morning. Hopefully with the charcoal it'll stabilize a bit. The pH down I'm using is for aquariums, hope that doesn't make a difference, but the pH down I was using from Stealth Hydro is about gone and was giving me the same troubles.

WTF!!! I got the pH down this morning at around 2AM when the lights were off, I wanted to see what the temp of the water was w/o the lights. (74*) Today, at 1:00PM the temp of the air was still 84*, the humidity was 50%. The water was 82* and the pH was BACK UP TO 8.3!!! The water has bubbles on the top, I assume from the nylon. The water also has a milky, yellowish tint to it. Don't know wtf that is from. I still have not added any nutes since the first day when I added ROOT66 and thats it. Questions:
1-Should I flush the water out and add fresh water?
2-If I do flush the water, should I clean the reservoir out completely?
3-Can I use baking soda and vinegar for pH up and down?
4-Should I adjust the new water in the reservoir with all the pumps and stones in it?

I've been reading both of Rosemans tutorials, the one he started in August and the one he started back in 2007.
Please help.

Root 66 is a supplement with no nutrional value, it is a 1-1-1 N-P-K value. It does not feed and it is used to help plants survive transplanting, and it also help roots take in water and nutes.
IF YOU ALREADY HAVE ROOTS, YOU SHOULD BE FEEDING THEM NUTES.
IF YOU DO NOT ALREADY HAVE ROOTS, YOU DO NOT NEED THE ROOT66 to help them take in nutes..
Most good nutes help balanced stablizers to help balance the pH .
If you are not using nutes, why aren't you?

And if the water temp is 83 or 84, they are not eating very much at all.

Wheather a solid or liquid all ph UP and DOWN is the same stuff.

I have no idea if you are in VEG or BLOOM or how old your plants are.
I do not understand why they are not being fed some nutrients. You water temp is way too high.
Questions:
1-Should I flush the water out and add fresh water? Yes, Once a week.
2-If I do flush the water, should I clean the reservoir out completely?
I clean mine about 80 to 90% , but not 100%.
3-Can I use baking soda and vinegar for pH up and down?
YES, it is not the3 best for all the time, but will work.
4-Should I adjust the new water in the reservoir with all the pumps and stones in it?
YES

You ou7ght to skip the 2007 and go tot he new one, on water, temps,
and ph sections.

"I still have not added any nutes since the first day when I added ROOT66 and thats it." This is your first problem.

Like Rose said, if there is a root it needs a nute...Quit jacking with your PH right now and get the plants fed. Use the same water source each time. Flush all of your water at this point, get that Root66 crap outta there and refill your reservoir. Add your nutes, bubble like crazy...make the water roll. Feed those roots very light at first. 1/4 strength and feed again in three days. Except this time add 1/2 the strength. Try this to get going again..those plants are starving and you HAVE to get the air temp down, don't let it get over 80 degrees right now. Those little girls, hopefully they will be girls, need low temps and good food for now. Your nutes are going to change your PH so worry about that in 7 days or so...Detroit put up some pics of the plants if you can please..Hey, by the way, your name is in regards to the pretty blue engines? How about some good Volvo power? Saves you money if you're running out East!!! Keep us up to date...Rose is the man!!!

I have not added any nutes because I was told to wait until the root is coming out of the bottom of the cup. I'm working on getting my water temp cooled down by inverting a bottle of frozen distilled water and allowing it to melt into the res. Unfortunately I don't know if thats enough. I have a 400w mh light in the tent. I hope that isn't giving me too much heat. I run an inline fan with duct work and a cooltube. Stealth Hydro said that this setup would be fine, and not get too hot but hey, they got to sell equipment so... I also have a fan to move the air around inside the tent.
I just checked it at midnight when the lights went off. Air Temp was 84*. Humidity was 50%. Water temp was 80*, and pH was 8.3. I pulled two of the girls and they were done for. I replaced them with 2 seedlings. Tomorrow I'll dump all that water out and put fresh distilled water back in. I'll try and get some pics and post them. It's a sad sight though

Do you have a way to get fresh air into the tent? We bubbleheads specialize in fixing sad sights! Nutes are needed by what the top of the plant tells you and the roots will follow. 2 nodes = 1/4 strength nute, 3-4 nodes= 1/2 strength and then we watch what the plant tells us it needs. We look forward to your pics.

I would wait to plant those seedlings until you get everything stripped back down, cleaned, and put back together. Start off fresh and we will walk with you all the way through the new seeds being successful. nad like Mostly said, very very important is what source of fresh clean air are you using to bring it in to the cabinet? a seperate inline fan should be used to pull in some fresh air. I pull my fresh air from the room my cabinet is in, then I let my a/c cool my lights. You might not be able to do the a/c thing, but get some fresh air circulating in there quick..

I think yoru problem is HEAT and the Root66.

I lay soaking wet rags on top of my reservoir to keep the lights from hitting the lids and to raise the humidity. I also place cups of water in there, and I also have a humidifier. I also have a fan blowing down into a five gallon bucket of water to raise humidity. I have two soaking wet bath towels hangin in the closet too, dripping into a bucket..

OK. Is the humidity too low @ 50%? If I add a humidifier will that raise the humidity and lower the temp? I don't see how, but maybe. I currently have a 250 cfu fan pulling air OUT from the tent through the cool tube, past the light. Should I maybe reverse that and pull outside air into the tent? I'm going to dump ALL the water out, clean everything with vinegar and h2o2, and start again. When I refill it, should I pH test and balance the water in the res. or outside in a separate container? I'm thinking in the res. Also, before I flush and refill, should I work on getting the temp in that tent down to a reasonable level like 70-75* first?
Thanks a lot guys, the whole point in me doing this is to get some good smoke to alleviate my stress and anxiety.
