discrete urban/apt grow tips?

hi there all, i started this account a while ago but am now getting back on due to my rekindled urge to commence covert cultivation. where i am is in southeast michigan, in a particulary heavily patrolled college town. i have two roommates in a 900sqft apt approx with a 10x10ft room with a 1.5x5ft closet. my roommates are totally cool but i need to keep odor contained to my room only. what would be the most advised way to go about getting two plants rolling? sorry if this post is redundant but i guess i'd prefer personalized answers anyway. for space and time purposes i'm definitely thinking indica dom strains, so if there are any tips anyone has for indica girls as far as perfected supercropping techniques etc, that'd be equally appreciated.

Is this your first grow? Setting up a grow starts out simple and cheap and ends up complex and expensive. Even for two plants.

You could use CFL as most people start with cfl. It's an ok way to go. Still not cheap though. I'd grow a Northern Light x Big Bud autoflower. in 70 days you'll have good buds. Very easy to grow. Nice yield. Stays small. Good smoke. lowriders are good also.

Cabs are tough because of heat issues and also space issues.
Small pots equals smaller plants.

I get tired of dealing with space issues and heat issues and light leaks etc.. also high electric bills. Here is a plan I think about.

Use 3/4 inch PVC and panda film to make a tent that is 14 inches by 14 inches by 6 or 7 feet tall. The height is to help disburse heat. This can set in a corner of your room.
Use a 3 gallon pot.
Buy some quality soil
Buy some Bloom nutes
Buy a few quality autoflower seeds.
Make a light fixture using four 26w CFLs. ( Your space is 1.3 sqft. 4 x 1600 lumens gives you approx 5000 lumens per foot. That's not too bad. Add 1 or 2 more cfl during the last few weeks if you like. Use NEW bulbs ONLY. Buy some daylight and some soft white lights to mix the spectrum a bit.
Get an air purifier for $40 from Walmart. Use this for your air filter and stick it on top of tent so it sucks air from inside your tent.
You wont need air intake fan. The air purifier will pull air in and out through top.

Run your lights 18 hrs per day. Don't mess with your plant. just let it do its thing.
Water when it needs water and start feeding bloom nutes in week 4 until week 9. Feed every other watering.
After 70 days and not likely a day before harvest your buds and learn about curing. Cure in your tent so as not to stink up your house..

With this system you can pull about an ounce every 70 days. This is the no fuss, no muss method and I guarantee it will work just fine. Setup including seed, soil, pot, light, tent will be around $160

Don't burn your house down. It's a definite possibility if the lights touch the side of the tent or if you use cheap fixtures etc..

Like this... Two more tips.. By putting this in your closet you'll just create an oven. Put it in corner of room. Use a piece of 4 inch tubing or dryer vent to attach to air intake and add a bend to it so that light doesn't escape through your intake.

The air purifier gets taped into the roof so it is pulling air out.

Use a couple layers for your door so that light doesn't escape. Get creative.

For the light you need the black piece to create enough space for your first Y to fit in there.

closet grow or tent in a bedroom. smell will be the biggest thing. candles, incense, roasted chickens, timed ona sprayers. whatever it takes. and not telling anyone. locked room. id go low wattage hps and scrog. train don't break em. top a couple times and then after they fill it up flip em. do everything yourself and tell no one. you'll be fine if nobody knows.

There are many strains out there that hardly smell at all when growing. Do some research on that. It may make life much easier for you.

Blue Mystic, Northern Lights are a couple good ones.

Rent a house.

I predict half the town will know about your grow before it ever finishes.

I run an appt, got a tent and 600w hps, haven't had any problems, all yuh have to worry about is the pesky maintenance man and anyone else who can just walk in as they please, Secrecy is the big thing, i had them in the closet freely at one point and i never got any sleep i was so paranoid, get a box or a tent and then no one has right to open it up besides yuh (and the police with a warrant),

So, how much jail time will you be looking at for growing? Will this mess up your career choices? Seems you'd be throwing away an education in order to save some money buying dope. Buy your MJ or move. Can you get a medical MJ card? Don't waste tax payer money. Put down the bong until you graduate and are able to get an appropriate place to become a weed farmer. You're going to get caught.

these are all things i've considered and still are considering... fuck a place where it's illegal to grow shit in my home
i'm definitely naturally terrified of potential consequence, but it's just so hard to just let go of the whole notion when i have such unbridled enthusiasm to get started. obviously i don't know everything there is to know but i feel like i could definitely tend to some beautiful girls properly from all i've researched. what would anyone suggest to somehow network with other growers in my community and possibly build rapport with them or get under a wing so to speak?

Probably just not grow but you better carbon filter the shit out of that if you do. Plus you gotta open the door to a tent or whatever and it stinks. My plants are in veg and they stink up the whole house already. Remember an indica will stink alot if it's Kushy at all, which is a lot of them. A milder smell would be good if your going to grow in a sketch place. I have one super piney smell/tastey plant growing and it stinks much less then my La ConxKush growing. It's my first grow(I'm in CO and why the hell not! woo!) and it's all trial and error no matter how much you research I think. My plants are healthy but they could be much bigger minus my inevitable mistakes. Some people get a good bunch of buds off the first grow, alot of people don't though and it almost makes the gear/electricity not worth it. Luckily I don't smoke much so no matter what I get will be fine. Michigan? Med Card is would be cool .

And rent a house is a good idea too when you can. Normally there is much less traffic from people or landlords ect. ))))

Also u mentioned getting in with some growers ect. Try getting a trimming job. You might find one where you meet some awesome people. I know people who have here.

What is this dribble, fear of God bullshit you are passing as advice?
I regret not growing sooner. Just be careful, you are more likely to be caught smoking buds than growing one plant locked away in your room.

Just remember that once those lights go on, you pretty much rule out the idea of getting yourself a little ladyfriend into bed.
