Anyone know any good ways to clean a bong. i have a 12'' bong and the entire inside of the bong is almost black with resin. Someone please post something that works!

use the rubbing acohal and salt it works good and sterillizes every thing

You should probably get into the habit of cleaning it every once in a while, to keep it from getting pitch black. I'm sure you change out the water every time you use it, so why not clean it every other time while you're at it? When you use alcohol it keeps everything sterile too, which will help in case you share you bong with your friends.

formula 420 is basically fancy, overpriced cleaner mix... they sell it at basically every headshop... it comes in a white container that says "formula 420" real big on it... it is actually a bluish liquid with some salt like (well i think it actually is salt) crystals in it... when you put it into a piece, you shake it around real good, and the crystals don't melt in the liquid so the little crystals gently scrape all the oils and resin off of the inside of the glass... dont' get me wrong formula 420 works great and leaves your pieces smelling real nice and clean... but it isn't worth 8 bucks... like i said it is like salt and rubbing alcohol with some other ingredients and blue food coloring.... try the salt and rubbing alcohol and then if your bowl still ain't clean... go buy some 420... but i think you'll be pretty damn satisfied... just tryin ta help a fellow stoner out... good smokin

It's a form of sand to my knowledge, it's basically the same thing as rubbing alcohol and salt except they add a thickening agent to it and toss in some scents to make your bong smell like flowers or bubblegum or whatever for a day after you clean it...
i heard that stuff was just rubbing alcohol with salt in it
but i dont have proof

I was pretty pleased with the 420 cleaner. It worked very very well. I tried the alcohol and salt method, and it also worked very well. The 420 cleaner works better, but not enough to justify the price. Ive decided to use the salt and alcohol from now on. I also plug the slide hole, and fill the bong up with warm water, and let it sit a while. Then use the salt and alcohol.. it works pretty well.

You can re-use the 420 cleaner. I dont know if people do this... It gets real nasty looking, but keeps working. One of my friends has had the same bottle for months and cleans his glass regularly.

Use Dr.bronners magic soap(peppermint) keeps my snowflake clean like new and its organic made from hemp!

Isopropyl alcohol and salt. The salt acts as an abrasive. I have used regular table salt, sea salt, and Grinder type salt. Works just as good as the 420 cleaner.
2-20oz. containers of the alcohol at costco runs about 6 dollars and the salt........ in your kitchen.
1-12 oz. 9.99 at headshop.
