So my soil has been cooking for 2 months and today I finally transplanted all of my plants and man when dug in to the bin it seriously smelled as if someone shit in the bin the smell was bad. Is that what it's suppose to smell like.

Nope. It should smell rather pleasant. All my soil smells very earthy when it's finished.

How did you cook it? Too much water perhaps?

Your soil went anaerobic. I put holes in the side of my trash cans when I used to cook up large batches of soil.....this helps a lot.

Go ahead and use it. I ended up storing my soil in extra smart pots (inside a deck bench) after this happened. When I got into these leftovers, the bad smell was gone. Mixing a handful of dried molasses into the stinky stuff when you transplant can also help.

The samething happened to my supersoil. Smelt like strait up shit. Its not a big problem.

Dump it all out and let it sit to airout and mix it frequently. Break up any and all clumps. Even the tiny ones. Thats were mine still smelt like shit last.

If you mix it alot it will smell completely normal within a week or less. And is ready to grow dank.
