dimmable driver

So, if I have an hlg120c1400a and I have 2 CXB3590s and a Vero 29 on it, nearly maxing the voltage, can I dim it to 50% and double the LEDs? Or do the voltage requirements not follow a linear scale with the dimming?

Voltage draw is what the cobs need to basically light up. 1400mA is how much current runs through the cob and determines its brightness.

A dimmer controls the current (brightness) not the forward voltage. It's essentially a fixed requirement (can adjust up and down slightly but for our purposes assume it's fixed.

Long way of saying that a dimmer doesn't change how much cobs you can run.

Just asking, i wasnt planning to do it before knowing for sure. I actually already ordered the 120 instead of the 185 because I only have an 18 x 24 area which is 3 square feet. I was lead to believe that running the driver at near capacity was best and the 120 will be very close to max with the 3 LEDs
