The class was $250 per person. They COULD'VE hired a professional but that would've been far more expensive.

They'll most definitely be writing it off. They were more pissed about the 8 hours each they had to give up to take it.
it's a minor annoyance more than anything else, and if they are in the business of buying and renting properties, it's pretty much in everybody's interest that these steps are taken.
i bet they were annoyed, but not as pissed as they would've been when the malignant tumor consumed them from within.... then they would've blamed the government for not taking necessary precautions to protect them from the dangers of lead based paint....
because I bet these are the types of folks who no matter what, always blame the government....

and were prepared to take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and their future renters. They, like i, advocate and hold dear ...... PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY . SOOOoooo, 1) they wouldn't have gotten the tumors and 2) if they DID they would blame themselves for not being responsible.

Do you know the remedy for lead paint? If you are not taking it out then you paint over it.
And teach your kids not to eat the house.
If you are remodeling you need breathing protection and thorough cleaning procedures.

If you have a kid of that age I recommend you rent a house or apartment built after 1978.
The point is that the regulations have far exceeded the casualties from lead paint. Those have been dropping precipitously.

The poison control part is so the government can monitor the number of people who both eat the magnets AND call poison control. They use this information to show the department has a purpose
the system is set up not for what you call 'the responsible'
