Did I Wreck My Cannabutter?

Making my first batch of cannabutter from trim/popcorn buds.

I mixed butter, pot and water in a mason jar and then let the jars float ever so lightly in a pot of water. The guide I used said the water should be simmering. So I had a decent amount of bubbilng, but not vigorously. The element was on about 4.

After letting it stratify, the butter is a really dark green colour. I drained the initial batch of water and added more. I am running it through the same setup two more times to leach out more chemicals/chlorphyll.

Is butter this dark normal or did I burn the butter? I used about 100 grams of finely ground shake/popcorn bud to 1 pound of butter. I want potent shit.

If I did burn the butter, other than it tasting like shit, is it still good to get me high or is the THC ruined.

Pic attached. I also noticed that it looks more pale green in smaller amounts (i.e. the residue on the plate looks more like the green I see in other cannabutters)

Okay. I will eat some tomorrow, after I do some more filtration, and let everyone know if it was potent for posterity.

Any other feedback is also appreciated.
