Did I top these correctly?

I was going to FIM but the more I read the less confident I got....So I topped them(there growin WAY to fast and high to conceal)..I just don't know if I did it right.. Here are 4 pics(all 10 cut the same way)... thanks folks.... :?

well i guess you did it right, but you cut one hell of a main cola off of those. looks like half the plant. one of those stalks where you cut was huge dam that must of hurt cutting that off. usually people just pluck the top grow shoot or cut off 1 node and use as a clone. you should of tied some sting about 2/3 of the way up on the plant and pulled it over and tied off. then it will be smaller but still have the top cola. but now you will have a bunch of colas. lol maybe needed rope to tie them over lol
maybe you shoulda topped sooner.

those plants are going to branch out nicely though. they look healthy.
 
have you read uncle ben's topping thread on this site? it's a great read and full of valuable information. plants should be topped when they have between 5-6 true nodes. cotyledons, or seed leaves, do not count as true nodes. when your plant has between 5-6 nodes, count up from bottom of plant 2 nodes, then cut. that will result in four main colas as opposed to just one. doing it in other locations on plant results in different amounts of main colas. read UB's thread for the best advice. good luck....
