i did not use much. i think i should be pretty good without it but i seen so many people here recommend it I thought I should get some to be on hand. I did mix some up in my soil but much less than the manufacture recommended. I'm using rain water.

Yeah that will work fine. You want to use a slightly heaping tablespoon per gallon of mix, especially if you're going to use rain water which is practically devoid of dissolved minerals.

Lime will raise your ph...are you sure that's what you need? Raise it too much and your soil becomes alkaline and you create similar problems. Cannabis tends to like a little acidity anyway 6.5 ph. Your best bet at controlling your ph is to make sure your water is tested and treated. If you're growing in pots, your plants are going to live relatively short lives and therefore the soil is in no need of long term maintenance. I'm only saying this to simplify your operation.

Yeah, with bagged products under most circumstances more lime is necessary. That way the potting mix will resist any sudden fluctuation in pH, with no need for adjusting water/fertigation solutions. Any pH between 6-7 is fine in soil and lime is very forgiving.

cool that makes sense.. i had put about one tablespoon for every five gallons of mixed soil.. i didn't understand why it would need a full tablespoon per gallon in premixed soil but since some many people use I fiqured there must be something to it so I put a little but then when I saw it raises the ph the plant like a ph of less than 7 it didn't make much sense to raise it too much.
