Did i bend them right??

hello, i took some advice on this site to bend my main stem horizontally becuase my plant has bin growing a little lanky. Anyway just wondering if everything looks alright, i wouldnt be too impressed with myself if it died due to this :(

thebend itself looks ok but i would have tiedit to the pot rather than to a stake. It looks like when that plant starts to get bigger that one rope is going to interfere with growth at least when you tie it to the pot you have more freedom to keep tying it or let it grow and the ropes are out of the way.
 
oh and your plant might be lanky cause its not getting the light it needs therefore it is stretching to reach the light.
 
i realized this, this is after i transplanted it from another area in which the tree leaves canopyd the available light, this area is pritty much in a praire so its got tons, thanks for the advice with the rope though, im hoping that once i leave it like this for enough time that it will eventually stick to its placement under the weight and i would just cut the ropes off. im not sure, iv never done this before
 
make sure the head does no come uo to much.
u want the ower branches going up not the head
