diablo 3 question

So I found all my old stuff I thought was ruined in a flood.But my expansion pack disc is in cd case with d2, no cd key for the expansion disc now, that case is missing.
Do I need it to download d3? I haven't played since 2005,I don't remember any passwords for blizzard to help me retrive that cd key, but I have the actual box it all came in.

Nevermind ....new beer coasters now.

you should be able to download d3 as long as you have d3.
