I think this plants will finish up in week 9 or 10. My last batch was chopped down at 11 weeks, but this batch is definitely ahead in terms of development and growth.

killer!

Hey the best way to crack beans in my experience is to use a plug, "rapid rooter" works good and are readily availible. There are many companies out there making these "natural" starter plugs. Set them in a Prop. tray and cover with a dome. Push the seed deep into the plug so it does not have any light on it, and use a heat mat if your temps are below 70deg. No more transplanting your bean! Just crack them in the plug and let them do there thing...If the seed is a good one, it will pop up with in 3-5 days. Oh yeah, you can use a few different products to mix into your water for soaking the plugs, so far my fave is good ol superthrive, and ph the water to 6. I have not had any seedlings die since I started this method...GL Dewey..DCG

Nice. Thanks for the tip. I was just using wet napkin folded inside a plastic bag. Then once sproutted, import into rock wool in a dome. I cut 2 small holes in the dome, it was hot this summer and I felt a need for a little vent.

But I might try that. Don't have many beans to work with, but can;t wait to get them going for sure. Oh, by the way, check yo mail.

Is a plug the same as the cubes I'm using made from rock wool? I think I might go more coco and perlite for more oxygen on these beans instead of soil with coco.

Well they do the same job, but the plug is made out of bark, and has natural beneficials. Rock wool.....I love it for how well it works, but hate it for the anti-green properties. Where does all the trash go? The throw it all into land fill way of gardening makes me feel kind of ill. Yeah man, if you go soilless, there are some big pro's, but there are also some cons...
pro's, you can water more often.....What you feed them in there watering, is what they get, since there is no nutrient in coco, or perlite.
cons, soil gives a good ph buffer, soil has stored nutrient, this gets used as the plant needs it. Soil usually saturates with water more, so in the unlikely case of plant abuse and you don't feed them for a few days "jail", they may survive!

There is many more variables but I digress......

That looks like some dank smoke dewey...Keep it up, and by day 55 you will be drooling! Hit them with Cha Ching and watch them blow up! Are you watering with straight water every other feed?

Yea, I am going to go get some of that for sure. So how much more larger will it make them? RO water every other feeding.

Depends on alot of things, but if they get enough light "seems to be", and strain, and general health of the plant, you should see a nice increase in bud size and resin production. A few people that have used fox farms for awhile now that I know, say that the soluables really make the magic happen. I am currently using FF for the first time, and I am using all there products, and so I will have abit of a personal opinion soon...But until then I have to go with the opinions of others that I trust. OK, went to the local hydro store and picked up Mad Farmer MOAB(Mother of all blooms)instead of Beastie Bloomz, Botainicare Sweet, and House & Garden Multi Zyme instead of Cannazym.

I told them what I was looking for, but they recommended something else, that was either less expensive or more effective.

So now I have the following for growing.

Fox Farm Big Bloom
Fox Farm Grow Big
Fox Farm Tiger Bloom
Mad Farmer MOAB
Botanicare Sweet
House & Gardern Multi Zyme
General Hydroponics Flora Kleen

So now I need to figure out on my next feeding how to combine all this stuff. I think the guy at the shop said switch to half the nuts, when using MOAB. But other then that, I should be good to go. Feeding most likely tomorrow. So any help and advice with the new products besides what is on the bottle would be great.

My first thought about changing to a different companies bloom booster, would be not the best idea...You will probably do just fine, but I don't like mixing companies that much, it is just not that good of an idea. Now with the enzymes, no big, but nutrients....I just don't like to roll the dice that much...But if you think your local shop dude knows what he is talking about, and trust his advice, then go for it and we will see what happens. Flora kleen works well, I like Sugar Daddy for a Mag. Sulfur, sugar mix. But I think you are on the right track! I would not cut back on the FF nuts, if you do have to, then there is one of those strange situations that you run into when you mix companies nutrient lines. If you just stick with FF program, you will get great results, so why fuck around? Anyhow, I just want to see you meet your goals with this grow. So gl and keep it simple...DCG
