Determining SEX Trick

Wow! will have to try that, I'm an outdoor grower and we did the 12/12 light thing for
every whole plant at 4 weeks. We got all the females but have found a small percentage
seem hard to get back into the grow and not flower phase. I wonder if this would of
helped us or a better way to determine sex.

Thanks for the tip, will definitely try it in future. Even if we have to wait and extra week
or two to get a decent lower branch.

Cheers,CS

ive thought of that but never tried it. i read somewhere that a plant growing outdoors went into flower except for the other half of the plant that was recieving light from the street light at night was still in veg. great to know it works!

I am about half blind, (old age) and I have a difficult time determining sex by "pre-flowers", although I have dozens of books with pics to help me or show me. I just can't see it that good.

An old outdoor grower taught me this trick.

I take a dark garbage bag, and make a sleeve, cutting it the size of a shirt sleeve but smaller, I use scotch tape to seal the edges and the one end. I make it DOUBLE Thickness. I put that sleeve over one of the larger branches, at about 4 weeks of VEGGING, and let that one branch be on 12/12. Every 12 hours I take and leave the sleeve off, and then I put it back on for 12 hours. Just that one branch thinks it is on 12/12 and that one branch begins to flower, showing sex within almost a week. Then I know!

It really works too. Try it.
roseman must know the same old grower.
