No. Libertarianism is a cynical sham based on ideas that do not work in the world of actual humans. Libertarians are utopians, and the one unifying characteristic of utopians in politics is that they roll out the red carpet for opportunistic tyrants such as agent orange.

The Constitution is not a scripture. Strict constructionists are charlatans who ignore that fact to our collective peril.

Please refrain from making harmful claims on a corrupt ideological basis. Putting up with the corrosive nonsense coming from maga is irritation enough for one lifetime.

Is this what you are talking about? Isn’t it sound practice to un-gun those who turn their backs on the social contract and threaten or execute violence? I fail to see the merit of your not-very-well-articulated grievance. Violence using firearms is a matter of epidemiology at this point. Do you support the herd immunity propaganda?

Umm,

We have this problem with guns being bought by people who go out and commit mass murder. Also very high gun homicide rates in this country compared to other similar nations.

I agree that the so-called red flag laws he talked about are probably an over-reach by government. But his solution is no controls on who owns guns. Which strikes me as wrong headed. His justification is that government restricts gun ownership to restrict people from exercising their right of free speech. He calls to mind the use of gun restrictions imposed upon unions whose members carried guns to protect themselves from Pinkerton agents. Also he brings to mind (though not sure he's historically correct) anti gun laws to keep Black people from protecting themselves when exercising their right to vote. These are appeals to emotion rather than reason.

This all ignores that nations with strong gun regulations have low murder rates. Also those same nations have stronger democracies than in the US. So, he sings a nice song but it is selling a delusion.

DeSantis sucks but so does Roos.

libertarians are bad, m'kay? nothing they espouse is feasible, nor would it be for the good of the people if it was...they open the door for dictators, authoritarians, and con men like trump, while eroding the social fabric.

any perceived cooperation on my part is purely coincidental...i have trouble cooperating with people i like, much less with annoyances.

I totally get that.
But sometimes, it is worth it to temper an outflowing of righteous reprisal with a tactical consideration: “am I giving the malefactor air by doing this?” Giving the consideration a fair shake sometimes exhausts my capacity to swallow the brilliant retort aching to get out.
