Dense buds won't flower with pistils

I'm in week 5 of 12/12 scrogging Blue Dream and Cinderella99 under 400 HPS. I've got these dense clusters of buds at all the nodes and tops, but they stay the same, refusing to burst into pistils. They're like nobby, rounded Armadillo-skin clusters. About six tops showed pistils a couple weeks ago, but the rest are just staying in tight buds. Very weird.

Temperatures have been 75-79 with lights on and around 70-72 with lights off. They're in Fox Farms Happy Frog soil. I'm feeding Green Planet MediOne, Liquid W8, Massive and Finisher. I Feed once a week on Saturday, and I water Tuesdays and Thursdays.

I have a few crappy pics under HPS (sorry). I'll get better (non-HPS) pics tomorrow.

Here's a few theories. 1.) Maybe I trained it too hard with the scrogging (weaving too much, stressing the branch growth and throwing everything off). 2.) Maybe they're too close to the lights? They're about 12"-13" from my 400 watt HPS. 3.) Heat stress? The room occasionally reached 81-82 F.

I'll try to get non-HPS pics up as soon as I can. Thanks for any help!

They aren't male but the they are seeded. No need for pistils when they already got pollinated from somewhere. They are gonna have thousand of seeds. Unless you want seeds I'd chop them and extract. Are these cuttings or from seed? Maybe they hermied and pollinated them selves or you had a male close by.

Try breaking open the calyx and look, prolly got little green seeds inside right now.

Thanks for the feedback Dyna. Didn't see any seeds inside, but they're probably immature or something. If they're seeds, kind of a bummer, but kind of cool, too. I've never grown seeds. Should be interesting. My next batch of clones aren't ready yet, so I might as well grow these seeds out and see what happens. It'll be more experience for me on this wild and wonderful trip of cannabis growing.

These six plants were cuttings from my mothers. My previous plants were fine and gave me some nice, potent flowers. I'm guessing my scrog-attempt this time stressed them so much that a pollen sack developed somewhere amongst them at some point. Or perhaps some stray pollen got blown in through my intake air, though I'm not sure where it would come from. I've never had males. I wonder if my neighbors grow any weed. I live on 5 acres, though, so I'm pretty far from my neighbors. Very weird.

I'll research growing seeds, but do you guys have any broad tips for how to grow them any differently than flowers? Does it take longer than the normal 8 weeks of flower-time to get good seeds? What kind of NPK ratio do seeds prefer? Should I go back to heavier Nitrogen, or keep up with heavier P and K?

Thanks for your help! I love rollitup.org. You guys are awesome.

no pistils because your plants are severly nutrient and heat stressed that they are burnt. Look at the leaf curl.

Thanks lux. I'm thinking I should move the light further away. I'll try that. I did the hand test for heat and didn't feel discomfort at that distance, but maybe I wasn't judging it right.

And do you see a lack of nutes or too much nutes? (I guess I could flush and start over?)

Thanks so much for any guidance. You guys are great.
