So This is my first harvest, and this harvest is mainly for seeds not for smoke, so I was wondering if anyone has used anything to aid and speed up the drying process.

I bought some stuff from walmart to experiment with. This is what I bought

Now since I am not going for smoke I am trying to speed up the drying process to get the seed out, Do you think this will help?

Regardless I am still going to experiment on a couple branches to have fun and see the results.

Really - you could just use heat to dry. I have a 400w CFL fixture and just put the material in envelopes on it and it drys in about a day. I might cut them into finer pieces one time during the process to facilitate the drying but that's about it. The desiccant from Wal-Mart should work. It's not very 'green' imo.

All that is in it are calcium chloride pellets. It is used for a wide variety of things even to care for food and medicine so I am sure it is as green as a desiccant gets ( lol probably not but jus sayyin)

Well - if it doesn't work as a desiccant you can always use the Calcium Chloride as a soil amendment. :bigjoint:

That stuff is the same as DampRid, it will definitely help as long as nothing touches it. I use it when I am drying and just put one of those in the room to keep the humidity levels in check. The closer it is placed to the product the better or faster it will work since your not producing anything to smoke.
