dehumidifier water

Hi Everyone

I've been using the water from my dehumidifier to water my plants. I figure that way my water should be pH neutral and not have anything in it that can hurt my plants.

What are your thought?
Are my plants missing anything doing this?

Thanks all

i would think that the water would be full of bacteria but not possitive. after awhile you can feel a layer of slime on the inside of the res.

They sell bacteria killing additives for humidifiers / dehumidifiers for a reason. I sure would not drink the water from a dehumidifier.

I tested the PH on my sump pump water thinking it is rain water...Still high and needed adjustment (since I live next to a farm field, who knows what chemical run off is also in it). I also tested captured rain water and it was high and needed adjustment.

Some say they use straight captured rain water as is like mother nature meant plants to get but it looks like I live in an area where any water source for me will need PH down adjustments.

PS..If I remember right, PH neutral is 7 and I think that is still high for soil and hydro...buy I just learning also.

I've been using dehumidifier water for quite a while...I just add some 30% HO2, according to the label. That takes care of any bacteria problems.

Its Distilled Water.... Thats why its safe for plants but not to drink.... Perfect way to keep distilled water on hand. Especially if you have a veg and bud room. Throw the dehumidifier in your bud room and run the hose right into you veg room, right into your res.

Keeps mold down off buds and your res up when your girl are really thirsty (like when their drinkin up towards a gallon a day)

If the water sits there for a period of time your going to get mold but I've tested the water and its VERY clean as long as you keep up with it and disinfect the dehumidifier res. every once in awhile.

Very good idea with running the hose from flower to veg. How about instead of running the dehumidifier water back into the res, you run it into a large bucket, and treat it with 35% Hydrogen Peroxide, then add it to the res as you need it...would probably take care of the mold problem. Just my 2 cents...
