about 5-6 years under my belt

that subject botherd me a few yeara back
and the different answers i recieved botherd me more
it made me realize that so many different answers meant some did not know of what they spoke
but they still spoke only a few could be right if three different answers were floating around

so i did a study myself and removed leaves at different stages of groth and flower
i learned that large fans are only used for growth and during veg
i learned never remove small fans near buds and the single leaves sticking out of buds
i learned that some genetics start to discard leaves turn them purple and different colors when they no li=onger need them
i learned most plats go through changes of not wanting the big fans as life suckers - at about 2/3 of flower
i learned if fans are taken early the plant will produce more sometimes smaller fans
I learned if you want to pluck um clean after 2/3 flower is the best time - energy goues to buddage
i learned that the difference was very close to nothing in the various stripping of leaves
I learned that the fans only assist do solar panel work for the area it is connected to not the whole plant

mainy i learned not to listen to others for many know nothing of what they speak - soomething they heard or read even think
dont believe shit till you try for self then you spread - till then just listen to and keep in mind gain knowledge to see which ones you want to try - which will work best for your set up and objectives

untill then dont believe shit me either try shit dont believe shit

you will grow then plants will grow

To say that defoliation is beneficial in any way is to say that people like Jorge Cervantes is just full of shit. And that, I don't believe. The guy just has too much experience to say that.
Not that he could never be wrong about anything but something as basic a concept as that ?.....I really doubt it.

I had to pluck some leaves in my Scrog, I didn't want to and usually never pluck leaves but if you can't tuck the leaf and it's a monster that's shading more than one bud site, I would take it off. Do not go over board though.

Although in the one scrog I did I stripped the underside of the screen I dont really think of that as defoliation as the branches grow along
the net producing a shit ton of leafs.

I am just new to posting things to this site .... So you can either disregard what i say or take it on board , either way , iam not to worried . I think there are pros and cons of both defoliating and not defoliating. I have predominantly grown indoors throughout my 15 years of growing up until 8 months ago i had never heard of defoliation. But as soon as i did , i gave it a try ... and i must admit , yes it does make your bottom buds tighter and more mature , on the other hand it does make your leaders reduce in size some what , i havent found that it has any affect on the quality at all. at the end of the day which ever method you choose given that you feed , ventilate and keep them damn mites at bay , the only difference is bud size , yield from what i have found is pretty much identical , all you are doing is shifting the growth from what you would have had at the top of the plant to further down your plant . So in my opinion , just go with whatever method you like , its all a learning curve .

I has 2 Barney's farm liberty hazes both 9-11 week beauuttys . I defoilated 1 and left one untouched . Both same height same nutes same light . Defoilated week 2 flower . 272 grams wet on the non defoilated one . The defoilated weighed 342 grams wet . Smaller cola much bigger buds throughout the whole plant . The pop corn was no longer popcorn and a lot less trimming at the end . Just like every strain doesn't like to be topped not every one will like to be defoilated .
