Deficiency or nute burn?

Hello everyone

this is my first grow, babies are 28 days old still in veg. I'm using medi-one for nutes phed to 6.5 and this is a soil grow in 3 gal pots. If you look at the pictures I have a few leafs that are getting crisp on the edges and some spotting. I also spotted a small hole on the new growth. Not sure what's causing this. Any suggestions? I can take some better pics when I get home

It's hard to tell if it's nute burn it's not that serious, kinda looks a little like a ph issue. Try flushing it with some water and see if it gets better or worse.

dont flush it thats bad advice all over! i bet you have foil or mylar in that room those are hot spots from the reflection off the mylar or foil. the best reflective surface is flat white spray paint. creases or wrinkles in foil cause these little burn spots to pop up. more truble then its worth. feeding any nutes yet? nice plants yo!

Don't know how flushing with ph adjusted water is bad advice but ok. It's hard to tell but it does look like a little bit of too much N from the dark green tint in the leaves so that's why I said to flush a little. And yeah the dude is using nutes he says so in the second sentence.

You may be right it could reflective light burns but some of those leaves are pretty dark so that's why I'm guessing it could be a little too much N.

it looks like some kind of bugs to me,look into it
i had the same problem with plants outdoor don`t see how the reflection of the mylar could have affected them there :-s

Not bugs-- looks like burn- either got water on it with the lights still on, or splashed nute solution on it...???

If it were an over-feeding/lock-up it would be all over the plant more....

Thank for the replies! I am using mylar in the room but my other 2 plants don't show the same symptoms so I'm not sure if that is the problem. The burning only seems to be on the lower leafs though. It very well could be to much nitrogen. After thinking about it, the potting soil I used was reinforced with nitrogen and when I re-potted from 1 gal to 3 gal last week I did add a bit of bat guano to the mix which is high in N. Should I do a flush on them and maybe add a bit of dolomite lime to the flush as well since I forgot to add some to the soil mix?

Just went over all the plants and can't see any signs of bugs. Overall they are looking pretty good to me. Maybe 1 more week in veg and I'll flip them to 12/12?

I do have a humidifier blowing on the plants, would that generate enough moisture on the leaf to burn it?

Thank you!

Only if it's causing droplets to form on the leaves. What's your RH in there? I've never found a need to use a humidifer before but I live on the gulf coast. After seeing the new pics other than a little on the dark side they look good I wouldn't stress about it too much. Back off on the nitrogen a little and switch to a flowering nute for a week or two and then switch to 12/12. You could let them go a little longer depending on when you want to harvest and how much space they have. They look great though so you're in no major danger here.

I dont see any moisture building up on them. Right now my RH is 40% and without the humidifier it drops into the low 20's when the lights are on. That got me a bit worried so that's why I got the humidifer. I do wish the RH was a bit higher but I've been told Its ok.

I was planning on getting them around 20" and flip. I'm a bit limited in width 2.5'x5'x7' so I was going to see how that go's for my first grow and dial it in from there.

Thanks for the advice Jin! I still have lots to learn

No problem buddy I'm always more than happy to help a brother in need. As a good rule of thumb they will usually double in size during flowering. Do you about training? This is where you tie string onto the branches and pull them in different directions to form a uniform canopy. You want to shoot for a wide, flat and thin canopy because the artificial light can't penetrate too deeply. You can train everything horizontal first and go up the sides when you run out of room. If you do this be careful and go slow and stop if you feel some resistance. I usually tie the string onto the branches first and tie just under the 3rd to the last node. Then I pull into place and use a piece of duct tape to secure it to the wall. You're doing great for your first grow good luck:-)
