Deficiency! Could I be doing better? Healthy looking plants

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me what is going on with these 3 plants? Their strain/gender is unknown and they have been in veg for 5-6 weeks now. The problem has started from the bottom and is working its way up. What could it be?

Basic Info:

Lights: 18/6 CFL's about 2-4 inches away from the planets
Nutes: S.H. Nutes (I think this may be the issue. Seems like the plants are eating different nutes at different rates even tho roots are tangled. Leading to deficiencies)
PH: 5.3-5.9
DWC with 8-gal res with Tap water and nutes up til 6-gal mark.
Humidity: 25-35% with the lights on door open. 40-60% with lights off door close.
CO2: Supplemented by Sugar, active yeast, and water method.
Temps: Res temp 70-75 f (started to lower it to 68 by adding frozen water bottle in ziplock to the res). Room temp 75-80 f.
PPM: 990

I have added a little less than 1/4 a teaspoon of epsom salt bc I thought it was a mg issue but I am not sure if the dose was too small or whether it is another issue.

Here are the pics. The lower leaves look like their dieing. I am thinking of flushing it with half the nute concentration and ph water for a few days.

There is browning on all of those leaves. Some are a little at the tips. The lower fan leaves have more browning then the newer growth. But the new growth has small brown tips.

Yes, three of them are in the same pot. It is not a 5-gal res. It is a 8-gal filled with 6 gals of nutes and tap water.

Back off the nutes, its going to get rootbound, put them in their own 5 gal buckets.

I was thinking about doing that but the roots are all tangled up. How would I go forth transplanting them to their own buckets? Is there anything else I can do in the time being?

Looks like a nitrogen deficiency to me. Yellowing older growth is a huge indicator that far in veg.

I don't think my grow nutes have enough in them. The PPM is around 900. So should I just add more nutes? How do I add just more nitrogen? I don't want to cause a over-dose on the other nutes.

I usually changed the res and give a new dose of nutes once a week.

Nah you could even drop the ppm if you needed. Just tweak your nutes to include less potassium and more nitrogen. So add more grow and back off the bloom. You could give her some calmag in the mixture to boost the nitrogen as well.

According to the Stealth Hyrdo Grow Nutes they say not to mix bloom with the grow. So I can just add more grow but wouldn't that lead to overdose on other nutes? I guess I should add 1/4 of the grow packet and some water? I am waiting for my FoxFarm Hyrdo Nutes to arrive in the mail. Once they do, I am thinking about flushing then following their feeding schedule/nute mixture. Some people have been telling me the plants are showing a mg issue so i've used less then 1/4 teaspoon of epsom salt and added it to the res. I've also been told to try using it as a foliar spray.

What I find odd is out of the three plants: only one is showing browning on the tips and side of the leaves; One plant seems to have a mg issue with dark veins/lighter leaves; and the third is showing no signs of issues on new growth/no browning on new leaves besides the lower-older leaves which are browning.

Its making the diagnosis harder.

That's the problem with multi-plant reservoirs. It's hard to fix just one plant with out affecting the others. Definitely ditch the powder nutes and go with FF.

Can't really give advice in the SH nutes since I'm not familiar. If your certain about the MG dissolve some Epsom and foliar feed. The results should be dramatic depending on the severity.

This sound like your grow lights, res, nutes the whole deal.

According to Roseman you should have plenty of room.

I read the tutorial twice and read it as I go along.

Looks like you may have nute burn, the problem starts at the tips and I hear that is nute burn. I dont know for ssure I am a noob as well.

Can you post a pick of the whole plant ?

I am going to give the foliar spray a try today. Don't want to add more mg in the res incase I do have nute burn. I have also diluted my res water by topping off with plain water. Dropped the PPM from 970 to 850. I also adjusted the PH to a 5.6. I think that may have been the issue since I wasn't topping off regularly it lead to higher concentration/ratio of nutes/water. But as soon as my FF nutes arrive I will flush and switch over.

I got three plants in the res and it is hard to post a clear picture of all three. The further away I am from the plants the less visible the brown areas become. Here is a video of them. I start with the left plant that is showing browning on the tips of the new growth as well as old. The other two are healthier but one is showing browning on tips on old growth-fan leaves and a little on the edges. I am so confused on how to fix them. Is is progressing? Need HELP

Remember that you don't know the strains. One may love a higher concentrated feed while another loves almost none. It's gotta be a needle in the haystack to find that sweet spot. Is this your first grow? Just curious
