Deep Water Culture Question.. (83 Degree Water. Too Hot?)

hi evryone....im hoping to get some advice from those in the know....

im doing deep water culture in 5 gallon buckets, everything is goin pretty good, BUT, the temps under the light are about 88 degrees which is heating my water up to about 83 degrees.

as far as the question goes....i know that 88 is to hot...and that 83 degree water is too hot.....heres my dilemma.....i installed an air conditioner in the room....but when the condenser runs, it sucks all the humidity out of the room, leaving me at about 38% humidity.......so i have a choice....run the air conditioner to cool down the room at the cost of lower humidity (38% or so).......or not run the air as much to keep the humidity above 50%, but at the cost of higher temps....what should i do??

also....i have a vented reflector hood.....does anyone know if i am to put an exhaust fan on the hooded reflector, and run flex tubing into the attic, will that lower the temps underneath the light?? and or in the room?

thanks in advance for any help, or suggestions....:weed:

sure you can put a fan on it, mine actually has holes drilled for it & yes that will help, I would run the A/C ans see if it had ill affects on the plant i think a cooler res is more important than the humidity.

Igloo Cooler.

I can guarantee temps staying between 65-67f for days on end.

It's cheap and easy and you don't ruin the cooler for later uses.

Let me know if you want to see how to build one.

Hey boomer bloomer57 I would like to know how you made your coolers. Share your plans I need a cooler for my closet.

Your humidity is fine. Actually in flower 30% is a good target for humidity. It keeps mold away and some say it makes the plants produce more trichs. Your temps are obviously too high, but I didnt have to tell you that.

Glad it's working for you. Takes all the headaches out of dwc as far as I'm concerned.

Keep it up. Keep them girls happy-happy.

leave the AC on and just spray your girls every few hours. just make sure you dont spray in the vicinity of an HID light. and yea, if you can exhaust the heat outside of your house, or at least into your attic, your ambient temperature will drop, which will also lower the temp of your res
