Decrease in potency over time?

Does MJ lose it's potency over time?

If so, when does this start to occur and what is the best course of action to keep the weed "fresh"?

I basically have more pot than I can possibly smoke and I have gone crazy for growing this year. I smoke but not all the time and I have at least enough pot to last me for a year!

Not a terrible problem to have but I hate to think that I may end up with some weak herb if I don't use it up

i think i remember reading that weed does lose potency after a while, the best way to avoid this is just to keep it in a sealed container like a mason jar or a baggie, but im not sure this information is correct as im pretty baked

If cured and stored properly, I have no doubt that it will last a year. How long after that, I don't know.

man-dont worry it will last 4 a year with only little, little minor thc loss.the potency does decrease in years, so lets say you have 3 year old bud-thats a vinatage and 4 bud its not like with vine that it goes better it goes weaker.so find a good spot to keep them in a dark and dry space.

Yeah, I keep it in mason jars and locked up in an actual safe I will end up having about 10 full mason jars by the end of October. Only smoke about an eigth a week so I need to start giving more away
