Deathstar..FINALLY!!!

Awesome!

One thing I noticed about the first two pics is the leaves look sativa-ish, the 3rd pic, with the visible Deathstar tag, has tighter node spacing and looks more like what I have, but I don’t have a clear view of the leaves so its hard to compare.

Every seedling I germinated from TDS is broad leaf indica.
I'd like to tag @FRICKITYFRICKTYFRESH here and have him look at these. He had Deathstar several years ago, and is partners with me on this one we have now. Your second pic looks much more indica than what we have.

The third pic is actually the top I cut from pic #1 on Sept 4th and rooted it. The picture you posted actually looks like the original Sensi Star I had back around 2000 or 2001. And you're right, the cutting I have has more of a sativa look than the Sensi Star I had. That stuff was the stinkiest stuff I ever grew. I couldn't contain the smell so I had to let it go. I didn't know anything about filters back then and you could smell that stuff as soon as you pulled in my driveway lol... skunk city.

Edited to add: I just checked my notes and I took that first cutting on Sept 4th. I don't know where I got the 27th from.
Nice job Interesting stuff on the Sensi Star comparison! That super foul odor is why a lot of people early on didn’t like growing Deathstar.

I did not encounter either ECSD or SS during that time period, but I did encounter Chemdawg, which is in Deathstar gene pool on the ECSD side and is also very pungent ⛽.

Ok so the picture I posted there came from what I know as Ohio Deathstar.

It was a seed that came out of the flowers I posted a few pages back. It was only one of 2 seeds I ever found out of pounds of Deathstar.

Story is there were no males in the room, so there was either a hermie or pollen somehow got in, both are reasonable to assume.

The other 5x are from the recent TDS drop and were labeled Mystery DS x Lemon Zkittles, pictured.

I'm doing some research on the origins of Deathstar. I was pretty well connected back in the early to mid 2000s when Cannabisworld and the original Overgrow was around and I was gifted the ECSD back then, and it was more of a sativaish plant as best I can remember. And I'm finding that Deathstar is a cross of ECSD and a Sensi Star clone they had. I'm wondering if they reversed one of them and Deathstar came from some fem seeds? Any idea how it came about? This is all interesting stuff to me. I just re-read the posts on OG where we found this cut, and someone commented on the pictures that he had Deathstar a decade ago and this looked just like what he had. I guess we'll see soon enough. I took two more cuttings yesterday from the clone we bought, and as soon as they show roots I'm going to flower that first cutting I took.

I was on Overgrow as well, but more low key, just gathering info and testing hydro builds in Flint. It was still kinda taboo to be posting info and pics at that time so I was super paranoid about everything.

I was ordering from Sensi Seed bank in Amsterdam at the time but was running more commercialized strains like White Widow, NL#5, Jack, SSH, ect. Stuff you would see in high times.

Deathstar has been in SE Michigan since 04 and is still around today, I just picked up a jar of it that was grown in northern Michigan and Im trying to acquire that cut too lol

I just read a long thread on ICMag on DS from around 2010 I think it started, and lots of pictures posted. These ones I have look like the pictures being posted there. I'm really anxious to run this and see what we got. I know my partner is just ecstatic about finally, possibly having it back.

Edited: I initially thought the thread I read was on THCFarmer but going back to look again it was on icmag.

Ok, I have several clones I've taken from the Deathstar I received. Both of my tents are pretty full right now, one with a preservation run I'm doing for a group on another forum, and the other is finishing up some of my personal stuff that will be done in about 3 weeks. But I wanted to get an idea of whether this is the real deal Deathstar, so I put a small clone in one of the flowering tents. Also, I read on another forum about a new way to applying Silver Nitrate for reversing a plant, so I took another small Deathstar clone and applied the Silver Nitrate to it in hope of reversing it to see if I can make some S1 seeds with it. I'll post my progress as I go along.

That thang in flower yet?

Mines on day 2, she’s does not like to clone and is not very vigorous, I ended up throwing the big one I had as a momma in flower and kept the newer ones to veg out and hopefully give me some better cuts (IF NOT, I’m gonna try and graft cuts onto seedling root stocks, really excited to try that out)

but anyway, the one in flower has been topped kinda aggressively so she might not have the biggest buds but I’m very very stoked.
I has lost my first cut when i went on vacation the guy who was supposed to water my plants didnt.

I have several clones of it going now. I started to put one in to flower a week or so ago, but decided to pull it back out and wait til my one tent finishes up and do a bigger run with maybe 6 DS clones. I'll be running them in Hempy buckets under either a HLG 300L Rspec. or a 315 CMH.

Why are you not popping anytime soon because it from greenpoint? Only reason I ask is I was going thru my seed collection and found some greenpoint packs that are like 3-4 years old.
My 3 TNT stored at 51°F all failed to pop 2-3 years is the longest its ever hold seeds and that's if i made them myself

I popped 15 year old beans last year that had been stored in a mason jar in various fridges. 3-4 year old seeds shouldn't be a problem (apparently YMMV depending on how they're stored).
