Who else watches it? lol. I suddenly found myself addicted to the show about 3 yrs ago and its become one of my favorites. As its on right now(on commercial at the second) i'll keep it brief. Was anyone else shocked that the guy from new zealand(freddy? im bad with names, really bad.) left the cornelia marie? After the whole speech he gave about how if any of the others were not coming back neither was he b/c of his pride and loyalty he had about himself and the crew. I understand he did it for the cash but it kind of makes me disappointed him after that speech he gave. he's still one of my favorite guys. Also, Any other thoughts on deadliest catch you guys want to talk about would be great too so please chime in.

Sweet, I just found out they are gonna have another new epsiode after this one about the greenhorns of the season. Should be intersting. So far this season my favorites have been jake and edgars fight, especially when he goes up to talk to sig. quotes are of course not 100% accurate word per word, but the jist of its the same.
"whats going on down there?"-sig
"oh, you know how it goes."-jake
"No, I dont. Please enlighten me."-sig
the way sig said that last part was great.

Best show ever, although this season is way different since Phil is gone and there's a few new boats to focus on. I'm still not sure if I like it yet lol

Yeah, w/o phil it was kind of weird at first. I like the seabrooke captains attitude of "it is what it is,so no point in talking about it anymore." I hope he becomes one of the regulars. A few of the people i didnt really like have grown on me this season, keith the skipper of the wizard is the biggest one. I still cant fully wrap my head around how badly things went so horribley wrong on the cornelia marie w/derrick and everything. I was really optimistic especially since he had run the boat b4 when phil couldnt and everything seemed to have gone well. I'm happy to see jake came back for opies, i was kind of wondering if he would or not after the way he left right after they got back in from blue crab. I sometimes wonder how many of them actually smoke pot out of all the crews. but then you could also split that up into who actually smokes when they are working and all that and those who smoke during the off season.

I've tried to get into dual survival but for some reason it just doesnt hold my interest and i zone out alot,(some of bears episodes of his survival show i had the same problem with but not many)just like i do with that swords-life on the line show. You'd think w/how its fairly similar to deadliest catch which ive gotten so addicted to that i would like it alot but it doesnt. It was awesome like 2 sundays ago i think it was On discovery they had on all the episodes of the new season that were on so far and by some amazing chance(i almost NEVER get sunday off) I didnt have to work that day and got to watch the whole thing. I went to zap2it hoping i'd find something good on tv that morning and was thinking wouldnt a deadliest catch marathon be awesome as hell and lo and behold, it was.

It's gonna be pretty interesting watching jake andersen take over as deck boss for edgar. I think he'll do good(did good technically, since the stuff we are going to see has already happened as they are showing last years seasons).

I've been thinking of something for a while now that i think would make it alot easier on the crew during those long grinds, why dont they sleep in shifts or something,(like one guy sleeps for however long, when he comes back on deck the guy thats been on the longest goes to bed for however long, when he comes back on deck the guys whose been on longest goes in...well you get the idea) maybe even bring w/an extra guy so they could keep the number of men on deck the same as now. I mean think about how much safer and faster working a guy is(and how upbeat/positive he feels about the job and all, which like they say is extremely important. mental breakdowns are a big wall they gotta push through ) after a decent amount of sleep compared to when he hasnt slept in 24 hrs or more.

Reality shows jumped the shark a ways back.......Like all of them the show starts out good by season 2 its a faux reality show where shit gets suggested and staged to make better TV for the herd.

Joine the club my friend. I've been watching that show since day #1!!! Yep, I've been watching that show since its first debut and first season. I almost feel like I'm part of the crew out there ya know?

My favorite episode.. was a recent one. It was an episode from this past season, where the punk kid came onto the boat and was talking all kinds of shit like "Oh yeah, I can do this.. I'm gonna show all these people how its done.' LMFAO! Let's just say.. he didn't make it.. freaking pussy. Don't write checks ya ass can't cash my friend. ;)

I love it when people get all cocky and act like they know everything.. and then get proven wrong.. like right in there face with it.. ya know? Nothing else like it IMO.

But yeah, I love that show man... love it! One of my fav. shows for sure.

peace.

It is reality dude.. some of it is scripted, sure. That Ice Road trucker show is just flat out fucking lame and boring IMO. Not my cup of tea, so to say.

Bunch of fucking rednecks driving heavy ass loads over the frozen lake... big freaking deal. I've had more danger with my old job.. than they've seen in one year

of truck driving.. and I guarantee ya that. ;)

they may focus on the more dramatic aspects to an extent of it but that doesnt mean its not reality. cannabisguru's post allowed me to put what i was thinking into words. its not scripted. no ones lines or actions are dictated to them beforehand. The shows editors do tend to show the more dramatic moments of it,but whats wrong with that though? its kinda what the whole show is based on in the first place...the dramatic and dangerous moments alaskan crab fishermen face.

Exactly.. those 'dramatic' events.. are what keep people coming back to watch the show. It's what also keeps people from changing the channel during commercials. I mean, who would want to watch the show.. if it didn't have those moments of chaos and destruction?! I sure as hell wouldn't want to watch it.. in fact I couldn't watch something like that.. without some kind of drama and chaos. It's what makes the world go 'round. ;)

peace.
