I started a new grow with four seeds going into soil on Dec. 5. All autos:

Gorilla Cookies x1 (Fast Buds)
White Widow XXL x1 (Barney’s)
Créme de la Chem x2 (Mephisto)

Fox Farm Ocean Forest with perlite added at around four parts to one. Added a thin layer of Dr. Earth about half way down. Plan to use only dry amendments again this grow. Seeds were planted into a small ball of Black Gold germinating mix, but otherwise in the soil, in its final and only fabric pot.

All four broke ground in a four to five day window.

Using Spider Farmer SE3000 light in a 3x3 tent. Currently running around 40% for the babies. Watering lightly with a pipette. Just a little at a time.

I’m targeting a 90-95 day grow window, but who knows? Breeders times are 65-75 days. Very unlikely.

I’ll keep notes as things move along. Thoughtful and/or constructive comments/questions welcome.

…after first dose of training. I find the window for LST is pretty short for autos as they enter flower pretty fast, and then one needs to back off. Good malleable first session for both the Gorilla Cookies and White Widow. I’ve messed with some that were more resistant, though we’ll see how quickly they pop back.

Plants are just over two weeks old now. I’ve kept after the LST for the past few days with three out of four now receiving some. The Créme de la Chem are stocky growers so far; waiting a little longer to hit the last one. Lost a branch to some sloppy handling today too on the gorilla cookie, but no worries at all - she seems like an especially fast grower at this stage. Some yellow mushrooms popping up. Removed some, but my limited research suggests they’re a good thing for the soil. Must have had spoors in the ff mix.

All three variety showing different reactions to training, though all are receiving at least daily treatments and growing fast. This morning, day 17 or so. You can see I’ve damaged a couple leaves with training. One showing touch of nute burn (?). Maybe I need to put the amendment layer a little deeper? Overall, things are going well. Added a pic of on of the little yellow friends too.

Progress visible daily. Day 20 for the biggest. The White Widow, first one to sprout, is really taking to the training, with many future colas shooting up. Wrestling a little more with the Crème/Chem. One is a little funky in its growth. Genetics? Should be fine, but seems a different phenome than its sister. We’ll see. Worth noting that most Mephisto strains I’ve tried were a little resistant to training at first. Really strong and stubborn stalks, though they’ve also consistently been great producers. They were later sprouting with this batch, so a little behind the front two. This pic taken after some morning training and leaf tucking to try to expose the new shoots. Watered after with tbl spoon of Epsom per gallon. Will hit the with Bt again next watering. There’s a little leaf damage visible in the overhead - just a little mishandling during training a week or so ago. Doing fine regardless.

Day 22: Can’t help myself. Two train and tuck sessions for the New Year. These pics right after second session. Everything growing fast. Créme/Chem (two smaller plants) still resist the training and have some weird growth. I’m using pretty heavy wire to train as it’s the only thing that will hold the branches down, but also causing some leaf damage from time to time - handling issues. On me. Not sure four plants are gonna fit with the heater. Clockwise from five o’clock: Gorilla Glue, White Widow, Créme x2. Pretty nice growth for day 22 overall.

Looking good in here boss! Every time I see your name, it reminds me that I got a free pack of shakedown street from bodhi. It's Chem d X wookie #5. It was made by Mickey Heart's (drummer for the dead, for those who don't know) new cannabis company, "mind your head".

How could you not toke and tuck? It always seems to be a lovely day for it. bongsmilie

Looking forward to your carpet of frost!

Plan on running any CO2? Looks like a closed Tent you have.

Day 23 for the first sprouts. Welcome signs of preflower on the two bigger plants. Happy to see it. The Gorilla Cookies and White Widow are both going great. Odd growth on both Créme/Chem plants. We’ll see what happens when they start to stretch and flower. Bushy right now. Had to cut a few fan leaves to clear some space. Training about done on the two big ones.

Day 26 or so for the oldest (white widow). The Creme de la Chem 2 got water, BTi and a 1/4 cup of Dr. Earth today. Dialed light back to 60% (the other day) as a few top canopy leaves looked a slight bit faded. Still pushing DLI according to Photone. White Widow really stretching nicely. Gorilla too. Cleared out a few leaves as they were on top of each other and holding moisture. Did some leaf tucking and bending just before this pic (on the two in front; I’ll leave the plants alone for the most part once they begin to stretch). Will trim more lower stuff towards the end of the stretch, perhaps. Rotated the plants too. Cremes are in front in this one. Bushy and dense. They’re all drinking like pros atm!

Day 28 for the White widow, really stretching now. Doing a little bit of tucking and took a few leaves. Rotated plants again. Chems up front and also starting to stretch out a bit. Bushy girls. Hit the local spring that has been my water source for a year or so now. Lights at @60%. Not sure they’ll need to go much above that.
