DEA targeting

I am fortunate enough to live in a state where the local authorities are of no concern to me.

Especially having actually seen a friend get a jaywalking ticket while smoking a joint.

I have also seen cases where people were indiscreet with outdoor urban grows and had the neighbors call in the DEA to have the grow removed. (I call that jealousy)

I am curious as to what people's experiences are and opinions are with regard to what constitutes a big enough fish for the DEA to consider.

I never actually see a grow bust smaller than say 50 plants publicized. Are they just not being covered, or does the DEA simply not spend resources on it?

It usually takes a long time for the DEA to catch on to anything illegal unless someone gets busted and rolls over on someone up the chain. I know Coke is way more serious to the DEA than weed, but the rules still apply. My buddy was slinging HEAVY amounts of blow for about 13 years. One of his boys got popped with a 7oz.'s after a drunken bar fight and apparently rolled over on him. It took the DEA 2 years to put everything together to make a bust. My buddy got taken down after a huge Super Bowl party this year and the feds took everything he had.

He's getting ready to start his prison term this year. 12 years!
