I'm on day 65 of two of each Aurora Indica and Blue Mystic from Nirvana. I didn't label each seed so I could try and identify each plant on my own. Well, I can't. Can anyone else? ANd any opinions about how close they look just by seeing without microscope? Probably will be difficult, old BBM camera isnt the greatest. lol

This is the first plant...

Any thoughts would be awesome! Thanks

U have some tasty looking colas and buds developing on ur girls there. As for ur questions... I'm still learning about the different strains myself so I really don't have a clue on how to identify them. Second, both girls look like their showing plenty of amber hairs with white but as for the trichomes it seems like a good percentage of them are cloudy but don't take my word for it. It's better to invest in a microscope to be certain. Also, depending on what type of high u want to achieve. Yeah, I use a crappy prepaid phone to take pics of my girls so I know how hard to take good pics. Keep up the good work and keep growing :bigjoint:

dont really know any of the strain`s, but as a rule of thump, the wider/broader the leaves the more indica dominated the strain is, dunno if that help you, do look similar on them pics I must agree, but thinking about it, the BLUE mystic, sounds like it will show some color in the end stages ? atleast if your temperatures is low enough at night, and I would suggest you to get a cheap loupe/microscope to look at the trichs near the end, but no matter what you don't want to harvest before atleast half the "hairs" have turned brown/oranges and more like +80% IMO

here is a few pics that might help you:

both strains say they are 6-8 weeks, and im into week 10 now, 65 days after 12/12 switch. I'm worried about cooking them too long

65 days is quite normal, and IMO you fist begin to count once the plant actually is flowering, not from the time you switch to 12/12 unless the plant already is mature and start setting flowerings right away, beside that it is my experience that it always take a bit longer "then they write on the label" plus facts like poor lighting or stress on the plant doing flowering might add time to it as well

they are looking really good but you need a 30x jewelers loupe to look at trichs. I just ordered myself a new one on ebay for $3 after shipping.

I have a microscope, it's just the light burnt out, so I have to get pretty close to my lights so I can see when i use it. I would say about 90% of the trichs are cloudy or milky, and the remaining 10% are clear. Not one amber. It's not at all what I expected from reading and researching, especially on here. Is it normal to have almost all of them cloudy and the rest clear, after 66-67 days in 12/12, with not one amber head? It is the same on all 4 girls I have running

I would be patient. Just remember weed is like a hotdog, the more you cook them the more they plump. You will see some amber very soon.

I had a feeling the smaller one one was the BM just based on the size.

Not sure what this means, but the majority of trichomes on the little sugar leaves are amber, but not the bud itself. Still 90% cloudy, 9% clear, and maybe 1 or 2 ambers popping up deep in the bud. So is it better to use the leaves or the bud as gauges? I'd assume the bud.

a 100 times or over hand held microscope with light is the only way.
a jewellers loupe is for looking at hallmarked gold/silver jewellery etc which most young people can see and read with the naked eye anyway.
even a magnifying glass can see that in the hands of an old age pensioner.

I have a good microscope, probably 100X. I can see the trichs clearly, just the light is broken, so i have to hold the bud to my lights. Gets hot lol.

But which trichs should i be looking at more, the ones on the sugar leaves or the ones on the bud? It's been almost 70 days now since they went into flower, and they are all indicas.
