Hey im putting up some pics of my plants, they are 4 weeks into budding and they dont seem to be filling out as much as I would like, I dont know if they look normal for 28 days in, I know they are Sativa mostly and will grow slower but I would still appreciate any feedback, Also is it ok to cut some leaves to allow for the buds to recieve more light ?

Thanks wordz , have you grown before? Do you kno if cutting some leaves to allow for more light to reach the buds would be acceptable ?

If your leaves are green, and it looks like all of yours are, theres no reason to cut the leaves. Just be patient, your buds will start fattening up real soon. Looking great for 4 weeks though, keep it up bro.

Thanks for the advice I appreciate all that I can get, I asked that question because ive seen some pics where it looks like the person has removed all lower leaves for some reason and I was wondering why that was done. If anyone has experience with sativas, how long do you flower for on avg ?

Leave the leaves, lol You have lots of time left to go, they will get bigger. You could also add some bud enhancer/fortifier along with your bloom nues if you like. :peace:

I cut the leaves from the bottom of the plant away so the growth is more concentrated at the top and more light gets to the bottom buds from my side lighting this way i get bigger top and bottom nuggets:blsmoke:

Hey that things a monster, i have 2 week old babies and the stalk is so thin. How old is yours and when did the stalk stop being greeney and start becoming woodey... how old is that one?

Your plants where I got the idea from about cutting the lower leaves off, do you cut them from the stem ? Does it stunt growth at all ?

That plant is 70 days old from seed,i don't believe it stunts growth at all because i don't hack my plants all over i carefully remove those leaves with bonsai scissors over a period of days and not all at once in the same day.

I never remove the tops leaves only the lower half, the roots that those leaves have established are then rerouted to feed the rest of the plant.
Plants have naturally evolved for leaf loss.

Trimming a plant to much and all in one day is what will shock it.
For my poor lighting and amount of space it is necessary as well to improve my yield,if i had more space and better side and lower lighting i would not prune:blsmoke:

Well Natmoon your plant is beautiful, I hope mine looks like that, do you know what strain it is ? And how much do you think you will get from that plant, Ive been asking around about avg yield amounts and have not gotten a good answere some say you can get up to 2 oz from a plant but I dont know if thats from a well pruned plant like your or what , have you taken a look at mine wut do you think ?

I created my own hybrids from various seeds over the years.
That plant is a mostly indica, probably about 60-70%indica,30-40%sativa.
It should give about 450 grams per square metre if all goes well so from that one plant considering its size i hope to get about 100 grams dried from when its finished.

I would be a bit gutted if i only got 56 grams from a plant that big
Giving the plants only sips of water during the week, just enough to stop leaf droop and only flooding them on nute day, never spraying them, and keeping the root ball fairly tight will produce very resinous buds which increases their weight.

I have seen a lot of very light and fluffy bud that once the water has gone weighs next to nothing, this is imo from a lot of watering.
Make the plant think that there is no rain by never spraying it,and only giving it sips of water apart from the main watering day once a week in good conditions,my cupboard is to hot so i have to flood twice a week.
This technique makes the plants produce more resin and makes the buds heavier and tighter,my buds are already solid:blsmoke:

I think your plants are looking fine.I dunno how big they are though so i cant give you an estimate.

2 are about 3 1/2 foot the other 4 are about 2 1/2 to 2 feet tall , 2 are pruned and growing well, they all are healthy but 2 of them seem to be budding alot faster , one is an unknown seed its the one in the pic that looks fuller, maybe that will help ? anyway how often do you do your majoring watering? and how much would u give each plant if the pot size is 2 to 3 gallons ?

Hey what ever works eh? There are so many ways to grow this shit. I love it! :peace:

I use 1 litre of water with nutes mixed in to each big plant on Mondays and 1 litre on Thursdays with only molasses, the rest of the days only sips.
If i had good cooling and venting i would feed 1.5 litre on just the Monday and sips all the rest of the week with a little molasses mixed into the sips water:blsmoke:

I would say that from looking at your pics and assuming that you have good lighting that you can expect about 300 grams per square metre,if you use a carboload product of any kind, powdered, sugar, maple syrup, molasses etc. you may be able to get 400 grams per square metre.
The trick to getting yield from a sativa in poor conditions is to make it fat and resinous and short,i would say it all depends on how root bound you were before you moved onto big pots to how much they will continue to stretch.
